Jumping back into the game as if she never left, Gwen Stefani sold 84,000 copies of This is What the Truth Feels Like, putting her new album at #1 on the Billboard 200.
Her first record since splitting with husband Gavin Rossdale and hooking up with Blake Shelton, Truth almost put the “Hella Good” songstress at odds with her record label.
Gwen told press, "Then [my cowriters and I] wrote a song called ‘Rocket Ship,’ and that’s when the label said to me, 'Listen, we think this overall album you’re writing is too personal. We don’t think people are going to relate. You should just put out an art record.' And I was like, 'Are you kidding me? I’m literally channeling God here. I’m saving my own life with this record and you come and punch me in the face?' The next day I went in and told [my cowriters], 'Let’s...

Space, it really is the final frontier. And with the Space Shuttle Atlantis due to blast off for the last-ever shuttle mission into the heavens on Friday morning (unless Mother Nature gets in the way), we were feeling all nostalgic about songs that glorify the deepness of the cosmos.
When they're not focused on penning songs about their sexual conquests, cars or whatever "Bohemian Rhapsody" is about, rock stars have often looked to the heavens for inspiration. Some have returned to that topic over and over again to great effect, including the original cosmic cowboy, David Bowie, who has written some of the best galaxy tunes of all time with "Space Oddity," "Ashes to Ashes," "Five Years," "Life on Mars" and "Starman."
And while deep space was long the go-to topic of choice for classic rockers (Rush' "Countdown," Elton John's "Rocket Man," Pink Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive," Deep Purple's "Space Truckin',...

Howdy fellow movie geeks. With all the interest in bringing classic heroes to the big screen, I thought I’d begin this column dedicated to discussing classic movie serials available on DVD. And since this masked crime buster is the focus of a brand new feature film this weekend, I thought I’d start with a look at the 1940 Universal thirteen chapter movie serial The Green Hornet.
First a little history of movie serials. You younger film fans may wonder what I’m talking about. First it’s serials with an “s”, not a “c”, so I’m not talking about something you pour out of a box into a bowl and douse with milk in the mornings. Film serials started appearing in 1913. Theatre owners and studios thought this new story telling format would be a great way to get patrons returning week after week. Serials were big, thrilling, adventure...

MTV has scheduled the DVD and digital download release of Jackass 3.5, a compilation of those bits that didn’t make the cut for Jackass 3D, for January 2011.
Following the $50.4 million debut, Paramount Pictures was reportedly considering its options on how to release the hours of remaining footage shot for the 3D sequel. But, contrary to those rumors, the studio will not distribute the additional footage to theaters for an easy cash grab. Instead, the faux follow-up will follow in the footsteps of Jackass 2.5 and go out as a separate DVD of extra material.
Johnny Knoxville told MTV there’s a three to four minute section involving Chris Pontius’ penis, a bit titled “Incredible Nut Shots” that speaks for itself, the “Slip and Bowl” where the crew is bombarded while on a slippery bowling surface, and a gag called “Rocket Ship to Your Anus.” So, you have that to look forward to after the holidays.

Johnny Knoxville and Jackass 3D director Jeff Tremaine gave MTV a little taste of what is in store for us in Jackass 3.5. Well, here is what they have to say on that subject:
"Oh, God! There's a lot of good stuff," Knoxville said. "Just the three-minute, four-minute bit on [Chris] Pontius' penis. All the different things we tried with his wang. It's hilarious. And 'Incredible Nut Shots,' we spent more time on that than any bit we've ever shot. That turned out really good. The 'Slip and Bow,' where we pranked the guys, they were on a super slippery surface as bowling pins, and the Street Bike Tommy comes down and takes them all out, and they think that's the bit, but no. [We] had a remote-control helicopter built with paintball guns on it, and they kind of can't get away."
"They're out there on a big giant Slip 'N Slide,...

Hot off the record-breaking success of "Jackass 3D," the question on a lot of minds is: How long will fans have to wait for more "Jackass"? The short answer, according to Johnny Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine, is "not too long."
"The plan is [to release 'Jackass] 3.5' first," Knoxville told MTV News recently. "We had so much footage left over, '3.5' is going to come out online and on DVD around January. That was the last conversation we had."
"We're not sure, because it changes," Tremaine admitted. "But 'Jackass 3D' on DVD comes out after Christmas; it doesn't come out on Christmas. '3.5' probably comes out before that — not Christmas, but sometime before [the] 'Jackass 3D' DVD.

When it comes to Nintendo's most recognizable mascots Mario has always held the spot at the front of the line, followed closely by Link with the famous bounty hunter Samus rounding out the top three. Right behind all of those long-standing franchises is the little pink puffball, Kirby. while he may not be the most recognizable of the bunch, he certainly has a devout fan base who have been waiting ten years to see him return to consoles in a proper adventure all his own. Fortunately for them, Nintendo has answered their prayers and brought forth one of the most stylistically unique titles to ever grace any console, "Kirby's Epic Yarn."
The Basics
Brace yourself, this gets a little insane.
One day, while wandering around Dream Land, Nintendo's favorite little pink puff spotted an odd-looking Metamato, which, in typical Kirby fashion, he immediately attempted to suck up. Doing so caused...

It’s been a relaxing break, but now it’s time to get back to work and dive right back into the files. This week’s full review is a little biological terror from 1985 known as Warning Sign. A preachy little number about the dangers of biological warfare, this film pulls no punches when it comes to paranoia and its “don’t trust the government” message.
Taking place in Any Midwestern Town America, Warning Sign is the story of a chemical spill that occurs in the wackiest of ways. Think The Stand if the biological spill was caused by sticky tape and The Three Stooges. Even though the film can be admired as an early example of rage zombie-like behavior, preachy dialogue, melodramatic leads, and lousy extras make the film almost unwatchable. Even more disappointing, despite having such a “progressive” message, the female leads are extremely weak. Also, for some...
