Sol Horwitz and Jenny Horwitz, the parents of Moe Howard and Curly Howard, make uncredited appearances in this film as front-row members of the court audience.
This was the first of The Three Stooges shorts in which Curly Howard's name is spelled "Curly" instead of "Curley" on the opening credits.
Much of the witness/bailiff and judge dialogue was actually used in the film Sidewalks of New York (1931) with Buster Keaton, which was directed by Jules White, who was the head of the Columbia Pictures shorts department and who directed many of The Three Stooges' shorts.
Apparently, this short that fell into public domain after the copyright was accidentally not renewed in the 1960s.
