Nice musical pre civil war film
MegaSuperstar9 November 2015
Carlos Montero (Roberto Rey) is a dancer in love with Luisa Romagosa (Ana María Custodio), the rich daughter of biscuit factory owner Carmelo Romagosa (great Pepe Isbert). They want to marry, but Luisa's father does not agree as he thinks Carlos is a good for nothing. To make him change his mind Luisa asks him to employ Carlos in his factory. Soon Carlos discovers the pleasures of work and his life changes for good. Only Luisa does not like the new Carlos. This is a modest and yet good pre war musical Spanish film containing lovely musical numbers and a good script (the film is based on the Jacinto Benavente's play "Nadie sabe lo que quiere" (Nobody knows what they want)). Antoñita Colomé plays the role of Pilar, a factory worker, and Antonio Riquelme plays Patricio, a worker who in the beginning thinks Carlos is a fake but ends befriending him. Recommended film.
