One of over 100 Columbia features, mostly Westerns, sold to Hygo Television Films in the 1950s, which marketed them under the name of Gail Pictures; opening credits were redesigned, with some titles misspelled, the credit order of the players rearranged, some names misspelled, and new end titles attached, thus eliminating any evidence of their Columbia roots. Apparently, the original material was not retained in most of the cases, and the films have survived, even in the Sony library, only with these haphazardly created replacement opening and end credits.
When this film was sold to television in the mid-1950s, the title credits were re-designed and the names of John Wayne and Walter Brennan, which were originally in seventh and eighth positions, were moved up to second and third positions, and these re-arranged title credits remain on the DVD released by Sony Pictures and shown on Encore's Western Channel.
This film's earliest documented telecasts took place in Canada in Windsor ON and in USA in Burlington VT Thursday 15 December 1955 on CKLW (Channel 9) and on WCAX (Channel 3); it first aired in Washington DC Saturday 5 January 1956 on WNBW (Channel 4), in New York City Tuesday 28 February 1956 on WATV (Channel 13), in Fairbanks AL Wednesday 21 March 1956 on KFAR (Channel 2), in Vancouver BC Tuesday 3 April 1956 on CBUT (Channel 2), and in Lancaster PA Saturday 25 August 1956 o WGAL (Channel 8).
