Lois Laurel, cast as an uncredited audience member in the circus, is Stan Laurel's real-life daughter.
According to Orville Goldner in the book 'The Making of King Kong,' Charles Gemora, who played the ape in this picture, tried to take credit for playing the original King Kong.
Stan Laurel calls the escaped circus lion "MGM," a comic reference to the lion that introduced MGM movies. Hal Roach produced the Laurel & Hardy films at this time for release by MGM.
Basically a re-telling of the story from Angora Love (1929) and Laughing Gravy (1930), but with a different animal yet again.
Preserved by the UCLA Film and Television Archive.
