Considering the poor quality of the sound and image of this film it is difficult to understand why it has not been restored yet. You need to be a real Carlos Gardel fan to enjoy it. Although speaking Spanish fluently it is difficult to understand a lot of dialogs. Even the songs are not hits except "Tomo y obligo". This was the first Carlos Gardel film for Paramount and his character does not appear in many scenes. The audiences discovered his great voice in this film and his big talent to sing tangos, asking the cinema projectionists to repeat the scene where he sings "Tomo y obligo" several times during its viewing. For very devoted fans only.
