For those of you keeping track of the celebrity Teabaggers, you can now add Kevin Sorbo to the list. At least we still have Xena.
The situation with same-sex couples and the civil partnerships registry in Ecuador is more complicated than many people have thought. Now a court has ruled in favor of a lesbian couple seeking to have their relationship registered so they can name their adopted daughter as both of their child. Like I said, it's complicated, but Andres at Blabbeando does a nice breakdown.
In an unexpected move, Texas Governor Rick Perry is applauding 650 Aggies that came together to shield a soldier's funeral from a protest by the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church.
The casting for Finnick Odair in Catching Fire is moving along, but sadly it no longer contains the possibility of Trevor Donovan in the role. He definitely had the abs for it.

I’m back! And coming to you from the shiny new AfterElton.com satellite office in Sophia, Wv. Yeah, everyone else thinks it’s weird I’m here, too. Did you miss me? I missed you. Well, some of you. I’ve got a mix of new news and things I think we should have talked about last week, so let’s get to it.
Peter Jackson has decided to release his Hobbit films in December of 2012 and 2013. He’s also decided to title the first The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and the second The Hobbit: There and Back Again. He’s yet to name the giant vault he must be building to put in all the money that he’s going to make.
While we were all spending time with friends and family in the U.S., honoring those who served and gave their lives, not everything went well.

Hunky Ben Cohen prepares for an interview.
Here at Twitterwatch, we're huge sports fans. We can't wait for football season so we can score a basket or something. O.K., so maybe it's the gay/gay friendly athletes that catch our attention. In this case, they didn't even have to take off their shirts, not that we'd mind. They just had to be great people. It's a shame there are no Americans in the bunch, but there's always tomorrow.
We start with the hunky Ben Cohen, who is the background on my iPhone. Here he is doing good by recording an interview in support of Manchester hosting the next Bingham Cup, the gay rugby championship. Isn't he adorable?
Speaking of the Bingham Cup, Gareth Thomas asked on Twitter who had won this year. I, and half the Internet told him it was New York City’s Gotham Knights, and he offered his heartfelt congratulations.

After triumphing for two years in a row, Jake Gyllenhaal is not the winner of our third annual AfterElton.com Hot 100 poll (see the results for 2007 here and 2008 here). So which out man did take the top spot? If you’re the kind of person who always burns their mouth biting into that piping hot chocolate chip cookie, you can just cheat and go here to learn who came in first place.
Here at AfterElton.com, we’re thrilled to announce an out gay man topped this year’s list – especially this particular man as most of us voted for him as well. In fact, out gay men snagged nearly 20% of the spots, including the top three. To be sure, we’ve nothing against our straight male crushes, but it says something great about 2009 that there are so many out men to choose from.
What we find almost as interesting...
