Tragic Loss For Clara Kimball Young Fans
PamelaShort10 January 2015
Upon visiting her friend Helen Kingdom ( Lillian Walker ) living in England, Charmian Page ( Clara Kimball Young ) soon realizes she has great fondness for the child of Sir Richard Beverly, ( Nigel Barrie ), Helen's foster brother. Tragically, Lady Beverly ( Kathlyn Williams ) is killed in a car accident on her way to see her lover and Little Dick is seriously injured. Charmian convinces her wealthy father to pay for the surgery the child needs and hides this fact from Sir Richard. The surgery is successful and Charmian nurses the child back to health. Sir Richard marries Charmian for the sake of his son, but remains reserved toward Charmian because of the memory of Lady Beverly. Sir Richard accuses her of marrying him for his title, but Charmian remains silent about Lady Beverlys lover. Charmian begins to consider having an affair, however Little Dick is taken ill and once again she devotedly nurses him back to health. Helen decides to tell Sir Richard about Lady Beverly's infidelity, he implores forgiveness of Charmian, and realizes she is the better wife.

What a sad loss this dramatic film is for fans of the silent genre. This film boasted many popular stars of the day who are now mostly forgotten. It is interesting to note this film was produced through the Clara Kimball Young Film Corporation.
