After being destroyed in a heavy wind storm some of the sets for this film were completely rebuilt.
The stern-wheeler used for the film was the GRACE BARTON. While filming in Rio Vista, California, the story called for a fire to break out on the ship. Smokepots were employed to provide the illusion but an accident with them actually set the vessel on fire! While the ship became engulfed, cast & crew jumped overboard but the filming didn't stop and the footage was used in the silent film.
Jim Bludso ( 1917 ) is a lost silent film.
