A six reel picture of the famous Jules Verne story which everyone has read. It doesn't keep very close to copy, was made in a studio (there are three or four bits of travelogue spliced into it). We can truthfully praise the making and trimming of the stage sets, but it would be far from true if we commended the picture to exhibitors as a production or as entertainment. It is weak. - The Moving Picture World, June 13, 1914
