Once discovered, Elmer blackmails Perla to accept the marriage proposal from Don Geronimo if she does not want him to kill her father. After Gonzalo, who is Paco's best friend, comes to where Perla lives, Gonzalo wants to find the assassin of his friend and he gets into some problems--one being that he is trafficking with Sebastian and Enrique. Additionally, he is also Elmer's enemy. Gonzalo tells Perla that Paco will protect Perla from Don Geronimo and Sebastian. Perla accepts Don Geronimo's proposal who will show her a world of luxury and beauty which she always dreamed of. On a trip to Mexico City with her boyfriend Don Geronimo, Perla encounters Gabriel, who will be her true love. The wedding takes place and, during the banquet, someone murders Don Geronimo. Enrique blames Fidel who flees to the Capital. Sick and penniless, Fidel is rescued by Leticia, a good, hardworking merchant who, by a twist of fate, is harassed and stalked by Sebastian, brother of Don Geronimo. Perla decides to go to the Capital to find her dad with the help from Gabriel, and the two slowly fall in love. But Sonia will make Perla's life miserable to win for Gabriel's love. But these are not Perla's only problems. First is Sebastian, a criminal who seeks Perla and her father to avenge the death of his brother; there's also 'El Dandy', the pimp of Sonia, who Gabriel confronts in order to defend Sonia, and who now seeks revenge; and Enrique, the son of Don Geronimo who killed him because of the obsession he has with Perla; and he will not rest until he finds her.

After talking for a few moments, Dr. Goodkat makes Kelevra more intoxicated, continually ordering drinks from the cabaret artist. Outside the establishment, a drunken Marcus Kelevra sits on the street, at the edge of the forest, and falls unconscious on the side of a tree. Dr. Goodkat, watching everything from afar, approaches and picks him up. Dr. Goodkat takes him to his house, and prepares him for some medical procedure, while a cat watches them. Before beginning the operation, Kelevra begins to wake up, and Dr. Goodkat sedates him, leaving him lying down. As Marcus Kelevra reacts, head bandaged, Dr. Goodkat, off to the side, congratulates him on the successful procedure. Kelevra reacts impulsively, hitting Dr. Goodkat, who only defends himself by saying that he has done him a favor with the operation, which surprises and calms down Kelevra, who asks what he means. Dr. Goodkat tells him that he has made him immortal, and taking a scalpel from his tools, he stabs Marcus Kelevra, killing him. When he reacts again, Kelevra is being treated for his injuries by Dr. Goodkat, who explains his surgical procedure, in which he has transplanted a cat's marrow into his brain, to pierce the nine feline lives to him. Kelevra, is upset to realize that he has to live longer, after what he has been through, but Dr. Goodkat tries to relieve him, encouraging him. Later, Dr. Goodkat goes to visit his friend, Gerry Kesselring, the owner of the Kesselring Fair and Emporium, who is distressed by a competing fair that has been placed in front of them. Dr. Goodkat offers to add new acts to the show, and when Kesselring asks who, Dr. Goodkat smiles at him. Upon returning, Dr. Goodkat comments on the situation to Kelevra, and after convincing him with the future profits they can obtain, they go to see Kesselring at the fair, to present an act in which Kelevra would be assassinated in front of the audience. Seeing the determination of both, Kesselring agrees to present the act. Kelevra begins to interact with the people of the fair, in which Bordem, the magician in turn, feels envy towards Kelevra, without foundation, but is also supported by Gretchen, his faithful companion and tarot reader, who tries to get information from him. Kelevra through her divination tricks. Kelevra grows closer to Lindsey, the youngest of the troop, who wants to get out of the fair. Kelevra falls in love with her. The show's act introduction begins, and after introducing everyone else and their respective shows, Kelevra's act is announced as the main act. Lindsey begins to wrap an extension cord around Kelevra, and shoves the plug into her mouth. With Kesselring, Dr. Goodkat on stage, next to them, Lindsey lowers the lever, electrocuting Kelevra. After a few seemingly lifeless minutes, Kelevra comes alive to the applause and cheers of the entire audience, Lindsey's astonishment, Dr. Goodkat and Kesselring's reassurance, but Bordem's envy growing. Kesselring gives Dr. Goodkat a nice sum of money for the act, and the two get excited about the amount he will increase thanks to Kelevra, but then Dr. Goodkat scams Kelevra out of a minimal amount of the winnings. Disappointed, Kelevra agrees and tells Lindsey, arguing that soon, given more, they could use the money to move in together. Meanwhile, Bordem and Gretchen plan something that will make them discover Kelevra's secret, determined to find out. Thinking of the promise he made to Lindsey, Kelevra devises a plan to get money, requesting to speak with Dr. Goodkat in private. Kelevra offers him a glass of water, while he discusses his romantic plans with Lindsey, announcing that he has put poison in both glasses. Dr. Goodkat is shocked at the situation, and tells Kelevra that he will go to jail for poisoning him, and that he will waste his lives there.
