In the mining town, Mary's mother reveals on her deathbed that she is the runaway wife of Pitt, the mill owner. When Mary finds her way to the Pitt home and sees Jan with Clare, she accuses him of the murder; at the mill, in dramatic fashion, Jan proves his innocence and forces a confession from Masarick. On the day of the wedding, Mary is hurt in an automobile accident, and Jan decides to marry her instead, incurring the wrath of the workers. Pitt learns of Mary's parentage and quells the mob, assuring them that Jan will get half interest in the mill.

- Money was what gangster Vince M. Falcone wanted most and he did lay hands on millions of dollars by fair means or (mostly) foul. But once he became rich what he craved for was respectability. So why not marry a lovely society lady? And with a young daughter as a bonus Mister Falcone could show off among the creme de la creme. Of course when times got rough he felt free to desert his wife and little girl. Fortunately "Traps," a lawyer working for the underworld, will console them both.
- Bob Hope is the Master-of-Ceremonies at New Yock City's Carlton Club, which is going belly-up because the wife, Allyn Gillyn, of the owner, Donald Brian, won't let him book any female singers or acts because he has a penchant for hitting on them, and this makes her somewhat jealous and protective.
- Novelist April Poole reads her new book to Kerry Sarle, her publisher and sweetheart, and to Ronald Kenna, her editor. The story begins at a masked ball, where April meets Kerry and recognizes master thief Kenna. April retrieves a note discarded by Kenna and learns that he intends to steal the Mannister diamond. Meanwhile, the Earl of Mannister, hoping to end his daughter Diana's relationship with an impoverished American artist, orders her to deliver the jewel to her mannish female cousin, Clive Connal, in South Africa. Aboard the train, Diana persuades April to assume her identity. Eager to foil Kenna, April complies. When Kerry overhears a struggle in April's stateroom, he rushes in and ejects Kenna. In gratitude, April reveals her identity and mission. After Kerry receives a note from April that asks him to take the trunk to Clive, April disappears. Disconsolate, Kerry delivers the trunk. When Kenna and his cronies locate it, April springs out, pistol in hand, and captures them. As she concludes her tale, April embraces Kerry, who accepts the story.
- Jimmy O'Connor and Scotty are a couple of New York City gamblers and sharpies who decide to go straight and, since they are such good friends, split 50-50 "even steven" on anything they get or do. Jimmy, a confirmed bachelor, doesn't care for women but Scotty falls in love with Diana O'Sullivan, a Coney Island girl. They decide that Jimmy needs a girlfriend and they opt for Jeannie Cavanaugh. But, following their 50-50 pact, Jimmy, although he has fallen in love with Jeannie, praises Scotty to her. It takes an airplane ride to get everybody matched up correctly.
- A small boy is sent from the table because his mother expects a caller. He slyly comes back and creeps under the table, where he pins his mother's gown to the tablecloth. When the caller arrives she arises to meet him and pulls the cloth with its burden of dishes to the floor.
- While caring for his sick daughter, a doctor is called away to the sickbed of a neighbor. He finds the neighbor gravely ill, and ignores his wife's pleas to come home and care for his own daughter, who has taken a turn for the worse.

A single woman, followed later by later two others, comes into the office seeking a job. The manager hands each a box with a costume in it and points to dressing rooms. Each of the women has a different reaction when she discovers the nature of her costume, and the busy manager has a distinct response to each of the women as well.

She persuades Leopold to renounce the compact, then saves his life by throwing herself between him and an exploding bomb, but the story does not end there.
- In this picture there is a limited amount of action in the pose. As the curtains are drawn aside the shell appears shut. It gradually opens, disclosing the model curled up in a recumbent position. She slowly arises as if awakening, and gracefully assumes the final position of the pose.

- This is a clever comedy production in several scenes. In the opening scene the hired man is complaining to Farmer Jones that the woodpile is being depleted by thieves. Farmer Jones decides to adopt drastic measures and loads one of the sticks with dynamite. In the next scene a colored deacon, one of the shining lights in the African Church, is seen making away with the wood. The next scene shows the home of the deacon, where he is taking his comfort at the kitchen fire, while his wife is busy with the washing. The loaded stick is, of course, put into the fire, and there is a terrific explosion and the building is ruined. Farmer Jones and his man appear at the critical moment and the colored thieves are given a punishment they will not soon forget.

A Broadway playboy, Greg Emerson, falls in love with Kay and proposes but his high-society parents object strongly. Terry. although he also has fallen in love with Kay and doesn't realize she feels the same about him, sets out to provide a happy ending for the couple.
- An elderly couple are swinging in a hammock and making love after the coy fashion of the late middle age. In the midst of their love-making, however, the hammock breaks down and they fall with a bump. Their efforts to rise are excruciating.
- For the sake of his impoverished mother, Joe Newbolt bonds himself to harsh Isom Chase. Ollie Chase tires of the difficult life her husband has forced on her and plans to elope with Cyrus Morgan, but Joe's sense of honor forces him to intervene. While Joe is trying to persuade Ollie not to proceed with her plans, Chase discovers him with his wife, misunderstands, reaches for his gun, and is accidentally killed. Joe protects Mrs. Chase, though he is accused of murder, tried, convicted, and sentenced to be hanged. But he escapes, goes to Mrs. Chase, and persuades her to reveal the truth. Joe is restored to his sweetheart and discovers that the Chase farm is rightfully his.
- American ambassador to Germany James W. Gerard warns that Germany will rise again to power and an attempt at world domination unless safeguards are taken, in this documentary-style propaganda drama.
- Captain Leyton treats his son, Boy, harshly to eliminate every weakness, but he is so overjoyed at Boy's courageous defense of the character of his sweetheart, Minnie, that he has a heart attack. Before he dies, Leyton charges Boy with avenging his mother's desertion of his father for another man. Boy finds his mother; discovers the other man to be Leyton's first mate, Morgan; hurls Morgan overboard; and returns to marry Minnie.
- Wealthy young Herbert Alden, a would-be detective, is practicing housebreaking with his valet, an ex-convict, when he meets George and Polly, two real thieves; they are discovered and, following a chase, they go to Herbert's city apartment. George arranges with one of them, Tony-the-Lizard, to rob the guests at a ball given by Herbert's father at his country home. Herbert discovers that Tony is Tracy Sutton, a social lion engaged to Herbert's sister Roberta; and believing Herbert to be a famous criminal, Tony seeks his advice. At the last minute Herbert sounds the alarm and reveals his identity. Polly, who is at the ball in disguise, is accused by Ruth Webster of participation in the robbery, but Polly unmasks Ruth as a notorious thief. After revealing her own identity as a newspaper writer, Polly is united with Herbert.

- This is without doubt the finest fight film ever made. It was photographed by electric light, under the exact conditions which prevailed at the original contest, and the fighting is fast and furious throughout and has made the biggest kind of a hit on its merits as a fight.

Hugh attempts to break the news to Minna's father gently by appearing to ask permission to marry her, but before the truth is revealed, the father staunchly forbids the marriage of his Jewish daughter to a Gentile of no means. When Minna's father is murdered, Hugh becomes the prime suspect.
