- On the way home juvenile Franziska Upholt bumps on her bike into Wilsberg and tells him her child was kept away from birth by her parents to be adopted. Wilsberg finds the adoptive parents: Gunnar and Suzanne Frau Weltenbrink, who run a construction firm. Baby Lisa is kidnapped shortly after, then Wilsberg finds Franziska staged the clash to get his help for free. Georg and Alex are arrested as presumed kidnapping cahoots. Franziska is helped by Lisa's father Sven and his ex-con brother Mathias demanding a 100 000 Euro ransom, to start anew in Australia. The police and Wilsberg mess up the ransom delivery, leaving the Weltenbrinks desperate and unable to meet the million new demand, which Wilsberg volunteers to deliver, but he finds himself knocked down besides a corpse and blamed at gunpoint.
- Hospitalized after an accident and leg surgery, drugged Georg believes to have witnessed his night nurse being beaten up by doctor Siegbert Suhlke. *Hospital staff, Alex, Ekki and Anna dismiss his 'drug nightmare' and bug him by fuzzing about his temporarily wheelchair use. Wilsberg withdraws his reluctance to move in with Anna as he discovers her home has a view on clinic chief Suhlke while she hopes he's ready to get closer romantically. Wilsberg wheels over after observing Suhlke hiding something under his apartment floor, would have been caught without help from Ekki and Alex, and makes a new fall, landing him back in hospital, as Dr. Suhlke's patient in grave non-medical danger. Ekki meanwhile helps trace some fraudulent practices in the hospital.
- Wilsberg is fired in favor of two goons as security agent at Miss Munsterland pageant, for covering up the intrusion of his mate and former colleague Harry Jonas, who is murdered before he can properly explain his interest in mayor Peter Horstmar's competing daughter Rebecca. Wilsberg finds her car crashed a young woman who landed in a wheelchair, whose boyfriend hired Harry to find the culprit, but her car was reported stolen. Slutty Rebecca's electorally 'inacceptable' lover and 'agent' Moritz plays a puzzling part, courting rival competitor Margo and even her mother. Munster's mayor pressures commissioner Anna Springer to curb Wilsberg during his reelection campaign. Team Georg also looks into the rivals, notably Ekki dating jealous Rebecca and/or Margo, who seem ready to any dirty trick. Yet a vindictive motive spells a new crime at the miss election.
- Wilsberg is employed by a priest. The church in Muenster gets strange calls from a group called the "Wiedertaufer".
- Georg grudgingly attends charge Alex's graduation party of her first employer's law firm, waves flirting from her 'well-connected' former college classmate Maike Lehmann and seeing her hit a car, which could coast her the bar exam, takes the blame by posing as the driver when the police arrives and drivers her home, but refuses a sexual 'bonus', after which a champagne bottle nearly misses him outside. The next day specialist police detective Michael Bach must investigate an absurd sexual abuse charge against Wilsberg, seems to sympathize and share his suspicion its' staged, but evidence seems to pile up. later Bach has to fatally shoot Maike's wealthy father Christian Lehmann, who pointed a gun at 'his daughter's rapist', but team Wilsberg suspects darker motives, such as her vindictive squander-bug mother Marlis Ossiger, who viciously blames once lover Georg for her 'meager' divorce settlement and the loss of Maike when only her father remained wealthy. Furthermore, another insanely abused ex indicates Maike has a ruthless habit, and even a convenient lover-accomplice.
- Wilsberg is said to settle an inheritance dispute on the island of Norderney. The deceased disowned his children shortly before his death and instead bequeathed everything to his secretary.
