Songwriter ("I'll Be With You in Aplle Blossom Time"), pianist and author, a music student of Mrs. Henry Hadley and Harry Archer. While in New York, he wrote vaudeville sketches, then served with the US Army during World War I, and was a member of the cast of the service comedy "Yip, Yip, Yaphank". Later he was on the staff of a music publishing company. He wrote the Broadway stage scores for "The Gingham Girl" and "Bye, Bye, Bonnie", and wrote songs for films. Joining ASCAP in 1921, his chief musical collaborators included Albert Von Tilzer, Mabel Wayne, and Alec Templeton. His other popular-song compositions include "When Is the Moment of Falling in Love", "Mendelssohn Mows 'Em Down", "His Majesty the Baby", "Say It With Flowers", "You'll Be Sorry You Made Me Cry", "Waters of Venice", and "Dear Old Daddy Long Legs".- Art Department
