Hristo Kovachev was born on May 6, 1929 in the village Ostretz, Troyan district, Bulgaria. He had 13 International Awards for his films. He was an incredibly talented director of documentaries who succeeded like no other to gain the trust of their characters, so in his films people behaved so naturally that audience simply did not believe their eyes. Not all colleagues shared some of his methods of work, maybe many of them not loved him and he at one time had become too cared for by power, but that's life. He made his famous movie "Builders" in which people direct talk their cursing on camera. He simply failed to become "their man". However, this process has lasted to 6 months. It is not possible to talk about Bulgarian documentary films before '89 without phenomenon "Hristo Kovachev." He was a bright artist, he left school behind him, but leaped awkwardly dance with the totalitarian state. He died on July 30, 1997 in Sofia, Bulgaria.- Václav Rostlapil was born on 29 April 1933.
