Luce, after the death of his wife, married Laura Bullivant, the widow of noted character actor Dwight Frye, in Boston on August 15, 1946. Luce passed away in his childhood hometown of Bucksport in November 1968.

And then, as Emilio Dumas, acted in other films like Escrava Isaura (1929) in the role of the father of Isaura; Eufemia (1927) in the role of Theodorico; As Rosas de Nossa Senhora (1930) in the role of Duque de Evora ; O Mistério do Dominó Negro (1931) in the role of Comendador Fernando; Casa de Caboclo (1931); Carnaval em Lá Maior (1955); Fugitivos da Vida (1956); Dioguinho (1957) e Padroeira do Brasil (1956). As Fortunato Cestari he acted in the films Sinhá Moça (1953) and O Capanga (1957).
