Rowenna is an emerging Director/Producer from Burnley, Lancashire. She won 'Best Female Director' for her first film 'Goodnight, Friend'. Before becoming a filmmaker, Rowenna obtained a PhD in Sociology and spent several years working as a social researcher. Her research has covered numerous topics and taken her as far as Russia. She is a fluent Russian speaker. Rowenna has worked on several other short documentaries and academic research films, including the award winning 'We Are All Migrants' (2019) (as Director/Producer), and 'Fracktured' (2018) (as Producer). She is now embarking upon her first feature length documentary, 'Invisible Heroes' (in production) in collaboration with Co-Director, Chris Hastings.
