Exclusive: Tubi has picked up Underdeveloped, a mockumentary from Brian A. Metcalf, starring Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tom Arnold and Mark Pellegrino. It will premiere globally September 8 on Fox Entertainment’s free streaming service Tubi. As an independent production with no direct ties to members of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television, it also is one of the latest projects to receive a waiver from SAG-AFTRA amid the actors strike, so filming can move forward.
Created and executive produced by Metcalf under his Black Jellybeans banner, the comedy series focuses on a group of failed and inexperienced producers working together at a production company.
Samm Levine, Shelley Regner, Kelly Arjen, Charlene Amoia, Nolan River, Jaret Reddick, David Henrie and David Kochner also star.
Nicholas, Arjen, Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor executive produce.
Nicholas and Metcalf previously collaborated on the Lionsgate film Adverse.

Stars: Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Alex Wolff, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Eliza Scanlen, Kathleen Chalfant, Gustaf Hammarsten, Thomasin McKenzie, Embeth Davidtz, M. Night Shyamalan | Written and Directed by M. Night Shyamalan
A day at the beach turns into the nightmare of a lifetime in Old, a supernatural thriller that marks something of a return to form for twist-meister M. Night Shyamalan. That’s not to say it’s entirely perfect, but the film’s overall experience more than compensates for its minor flaws.
The central concept couldn’t be simpler. A group of guests at a ritzy resort are directed to a stunningly located beach by their eager-to-please hotel manager (Gustaf Hammarsten). However, once they arrive on the beach (Shyamalan cameos as the bus driver), they find that they cannot leave, as any attempt to do so results in unconsciousness.

When it comes to the modern Masters of Horror, I think it’s safe to say that M. Night Shyamalan is easily one of the most debated purveyors of genre fare. To this writer, what that indicates is that Shyamalan isn’t a storyteller looking to make movies that easily fit into widely accepted narrative structures adopted by so many others, which is why I think he can be a challenging filmmaker for some viewers to really get into. Personally, I’ll take a director that takes risks and continually challenges themselves any day of the week over a director that plays it safe and sticks to a tried-and-true formula. That being said, Old is certainly going to be another divisive film from Shyamalan that may alienate some and frustrate others, due to the film’s frenetic pacing and storytelling structure as well as how the performances are staged here.

There is hardly anything scarier to Hollywood, or even to American culture generally, than growing old, and something that makes aging happen much more rapidly would be terrifying. So M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller Old, where a group of people find themselves on a beach that compresses years of aging into hours, hits a cultural nerve, and has inherent potential for social commentary. Whether this director will use that potential, or even acknowledge it, is a big question going in to seeing this film.
A couple Guy (Gael Garcia Bernal) and Prisca (Vicky Krieps) and their 6-year-old son Trent (Nolan River) and 11-year-old Maddox (Alexa Swinton) check in to posh tropical resort for a family vacation.

"What's happening to us...?" Universal has debuted the first full official trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's movie Old, filmed last year during the pandemic. We featured the first look TV spot during the Super Bowl a few months ago, and thankfully this trailer doesn't reveal too much. Adapted from the graphic novel titled "Sandcastle" by Pierre Oscar Lévy & Frederik Peeters. The film takes place entirely on a secluded tropical beach. A family on a tropical holiday discover that the beach where they are relaxing is somehow making everyone turn older and older by the minute. The full ensemble cast (everyone at different ages!) includes Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Kathleen Chalfant, Alexa Swinton, Nolan River, Kylie Begley, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Alex Wolff, Emun Elliott, and Thomasin McKenzie. Whoaa. I am very much looking forward to this! I love...

As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cruised to their first Super Bowl victory since 2002 Sunday night, the commercial breaks — as they often do — provided a bit of bonus entertainment.
As always, an array of trailers aired during the big game, and while the ongoing pandemic means there’s still a cloud of doubt hanging over blockbuster season 2021 (at least in the non-streaming service world), Hollywood still had plenty to tease, from Eddie Murphy’s Coming 2 America to the latest installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. Below is a list...

"There's something wrong with this beach!" Universal has released the first 30-sec spot during the Super Bowl for M. Night Shyamalan's movie Old, that he was filming last year even during the pandemic. This is our first look at any footage from this thriller, which is an adaptation of the graphic novel titled "Sandcastle" by Pierre Oscar Lévy & Frederik Peeters. Shyamalan's mystery takes place entirely on one secluded tropical beach. A family on a tropical holiday discover that the beach where they are relaxing is somehow making everyone turn older and older by the minute. The full ensemble cast (because they've got to cover people at many ages!) includes Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Kathleen Chalfant, Alexa Swinton, Nolan River, Kylie Begley, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Alex Wolff, Emun Elliott, and Thomasin McKenzie.
