Fox procedural “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been pushed back until Fall 2024, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap.
As the broadcast networks continue to feel the impact of the Hollywood double strike this summer, the fifth installment of the Rob Lowe-led drama is set to consist of 12 episodes. Despite the rescue show’s success throughout its airing, producing a full season was not possible coming out of the work stoppage, which shut down virtually every ongoing production, according to an individual with knowledge of Season 5 logistics.
As “9-1-1: Lone Star” rolls out its fifth season during the 2024-25 season, it will air alongside new dramas “Doc,” which is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, and John Wells’ “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” which is co-produced by Warner Bros. Television. Both “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf” were previously pushed to premiere in the 2024 fall season due to residual impacts of the labor dispute.

Exclusive: Fox’s 2023-2024 schedule will not include the network’s two highest-rated drama series of 2022-23.
The move of flagship 9-1-1 to ABC was announced in May. Now its spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, which was renewed for a fifth season by Fox in May, will not return with new episodes this spring. Instead, the drama starring Rob Lowe will produce 12 episodes to air in fall 2024, making fans’ wait for Season 5 extra long.
Like any other linear or streaming series, 9-1-1: Lone Star has been impacted by the double Hollywood strikes. Earlier this fall, Fox and producing studio 20th Television had been discussing an 18-episode order — six episodes for midseason — and 12 for fall, sources said. As the SAG-AFTRA strike stretched into November, those plans changed, and the two sides ultimately agreed on 12 episodes for fall 2024.

Fox is bringing in some repeats of 9-1-1: Lone Star to its fall schedule as it tries to remind viewers that scripted drama still has a place on broadcast TV amid the writers and actors strikes.
The move sees unscripted competition series I Can See Your Voice, which has completed production of its third season, to midseason.
Season 4 of 9-1-1: Lone Star will air starting on Tuesday September 19 at 9 pm, after season 3 of Name That Tune.
The hope is that it can get some traction for the return of 9-1-1: Lone Star with its fifth season once the dual strikes are over. It comes as the show’s parent show 9-1-1 was not renewed by Fox in May, instead set to move to ABC, whose sibling studio 20th TV produces, once the strikes are over.

A month ago, in TV Insider Magazine, we asked you to come here to vote for TV’s sexiest couple. Because let’s face it: We love love, whether it’s tragic or messy or easy or drama-free. Well, now the poll has closed and it’s time to see which of the 17 couples we gave you to choose from came out on top, after thousands of votes. The top 5 couples were (not in order): 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva), Law & Order: Svu and Organized Crime‘s Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Magnum P.I.‘s Magnum (Jay Hernandez) and Higgins (Perdita Weeks), NCIS: Hawai’i‘s Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami) and Kate (Tori Anderson), and Outlander‘s Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe). And your winner is… Tarlos from 9-1-1: Lone Star! The fan-favorite couple,...

There was so much to love about T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos’ (Rafael Silva) wedding in the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 finale, but we didn’t quite see everything that was filmed. And now, TV Insider can exclusively reveal a deleted scene that didn’t make the cut from before the ceremony. “You look perfect for a perfect day,” Owen (Rob Lowe) tells his son. “Almost perfect,” T.K. corrects him. “I think even the grave couldn’t keep your mother away,” Owen notes, which is true, since we did see Gwyn (Lisa Edelstein) at one point. Meanwhile, Carlos checks with his mom Andrea (Roxana Brusso) that he’s doing the right thing, after his father’s murder. “The day you asked your father to be your best man, he was the happiest I’ve ever seen him, so yes, you’re damn right we’re doing the right thing,...

It will take the entire hiatus to recover from the emotional rollercoaster that was this supersized finale.
There was so much bittersweetness to 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 17 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 18 as we hit impossible highs, experienced devastating lows, celebrated and mourned, and loved and lost.
At the center of it was Tarlos' highly-anticipated wedding that's been seasons in the making.
But first, we have to pour some tequila out for Gabriel Reyes. The speculation and fan theories were correct, and we did lose the Reyes patriarch by the close of the first hour.
He's been this influential, wonderfully complex, rich character, and his loss will be felt from now on. To say I'm angry about it doesn't do it justice. The series relies too heavily on shocking deaths to move the narrative forward.
It'll never be said that Gabriel didn't love his son,...

The 9-1-1: Lone Star is one of Fox's most-watched drama series and would ordinarily be a shoo-in for renewal. However, the network doesn't own the show, so it doesn't share in off-network profits. That's a key factor these days, as ad-supported viewing declines. Will 9-1-1: Lone Star be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 12 “Swipe Left.”] Before getting married, couples need to have the big, difficult conversations. T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) think they’ve done that on 9-1-1: Lone Star… until a potential celebrant makes them realize they haven’t. While interviewing potential celebrants — though we have a feeling someone from the 126, say the already ordained Paul (Brian Michael Smith), might end up with the job — T.K. and Carlos discover they disagree about having kids: the paramedic wants them, while the officer does not. T.K., understandably, can’t just forget about “the gaping chasm that just opened up between [them]” and admits he just assumed his fiancé wanted kids. “You also assumed I didn’t have a wife,” Carlos points out. (Not the time.) He’s also not surprised they haven’t had that discussion just yet, since “we’ve been busy, working, trying ...

Not exactly, as TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek from the April 11 episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star shows. Amethyst reads their “radiant auras” and remarks that with Carlos’ “a cool blue of a sage” and T.K.’s “a fiery passionate red,” their “couple aura turns into a prismatic…” When Carlos can easily fill in the blank, she asks if he has the sight, too. His response is the best: “No, I’m just familiar with the color wheel.” The reverend is clearly out once he tells them they’...

Marjan’s (Natacha Karam) on her way back to where she belongs in the March 21 episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star… only for something to go wrong, as TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek teases. Almost everyone’s waiting at Owen’s (Rob Lowe) — T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein), Judd (Jim Parrack), Paul (Brian Michael Smith), Carlos (Rafael Silva), Mateo (Julian Works), and Nancy (Brianna Baker) — but among those missing is one important person: the guest of honor. “Cap, I hate to say it, but I think you’re going to have to put your salmon canapés back in the fridge,” Judd tells Owen. “This is a disaster,” the 126’s captain says. “Where is she?” Marjan’s phone goes straight to voicemail, and it shouldn’t be because she doesn’t have service, nor should it should be an issue of whether she can hear on the road with her motorcycle helmet on.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 premiere, “The Big Chill.”] What’s frostier — the weather outside in Texas during an ice storm or paramedic T.K. Strand’s (Ronen Rubinstein) attitude when it comes to his relationship status with Officer Carlos Reyes’ (Rafael Silva)? As the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 premiere reveals, fan-favorite couple Tarlos has broken up in the six months since the show left off. After showing that Captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) is suspended for punching Deputy Chief Billy Tyson (Billy Burke) and the 126 won’t be reopening in May, “The Big Chill” jumps forward to January. And in the first part of this disaster, firefighter Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam) tries to fight for the 126 and get Owen to return — especially after finding out he just has to apologize — only to fail (so far) on both counts. On her way back from his cabin, she crashes her car due ...

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Showrunner Tim Minear Cold On Crossover Episodes But Open To More Spin-Offs – TCA
9-1-1: Lone Star showrunner Tim Minear is open to more spin-offs of the Fox procedural franchise but has no immediate plans for a third iteration. Minear also played down the idea of crossover episodes between 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Ryan Murphy told Deadline last year that he was “talking about doing a third one” but Minear said that there was nothing concrete in the works. But he joked, “Am I going to Dick Wolf the series? Hell, yeah.”
Speaking at Fox’s TCA Winter Press Tour presentation, he said that he wanted 9-1-1: Lone Star, which is set in Austin, Texas to stand on its own. “The idea is to have the brand grow in a way that feels organic and natural. We didn’t want to jump into a new iteration until we felt like we had something else to say.” He added that the...

“9-1-1” is getting its first spinoff this year, but series co-creator Tim Minear says there could still be more on the way.
“The idea is to have the brand grow in a way that feels organic and natural,” Minear said at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday. But when asked if he wanted to “Dick Wolf the show” into a “Chicago Fire” or “Law & Order”-style franchise, Minear added: “Hell yeah.”
“9-1-1: Lone Star,” which stars Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler as first responders in Austin, Texas, is nominally a spinoff of the flagship drama starring Peter Krause and Angela Bassett, but the two shows don’t intersect at all — at least not yet. Minear said the creative approach to the two dramas were almost complete opposites.
