D.W. Olivas

D.W. Olivas is a writer, musician, and skateboarder living in Beverly Hills, CA, working in music publishing, synch and supervision. In 2014 he co-created the Syracuse University Film Festival and upgraded the entire college theater system from 35mm to DCP before graduating Newhouse with a bachelors in Television, Radio, and Film business, alongside an honorary audio engineering degree and a minor in creative writing. He worked with the reincarnated 60's proto-punk band MC5 on their US tour in 2018 (as MC50) and again in 2022, and can be found on YouTube teaching guitar with band leader/founder Wayne Kramer, in his popular "Professor Wayne" series. He has given music lessons in every instrument to children of the stars, is an avid guitar, bass, and ukulele player, and performs under the stage name "Strangerland". He is also an author of an original young-adult series currently on its third installment: Astral, book 3 in "The Story of Kira Command". He worked in the music department on five films before 30.
