John Potash is a lifelong animal lover and advocate who has spent the past few decades working in many various capacities including keeping, training, breeding, educating, rescue and lobbying. John owns and operates Get Rattled - Rattlesnake Avoidance Training for dogs (as well as skunk, porcupine and poisonous toad avoidance) and Animal Talent Unleashed - Providing animals for film and photography.
He has over 35 years of experience working with a huge variety of animals from domesticated animals to wildlife to all manners of small and large exotic animals, specializing in reptiles and insects including venomous snakes, specifically rattlesnakes which have been featured in many films!
He was first introduced to the film industry by providing interviews, consulting and live animals for news stations, local TV shows, documentaries, modeling photography, commercials, music videos, and feature films.
While not new to being on stage, presenting for hundreds of people, or on camera, he has recently had a new passion ignited for acting and production!
While volunteering as a PA for a locally filmed feature film, the director offered an opportunity to fill a roll, which he happily and enthusiastically accepted. This led to also producing his own scene in the movie, with a rattlesnake of course, which turned out to be one of the most talked about scenes in this movie. An arts professor from the university described this scene, saying, "This scene really brought the whole film together and brought a much deeper meaning to everything that happened in the movie. Not to mention it came as quite a shock and surprise that nobody saw coming!"
He has been described as "always professional, pleasant and helpful on set" and "a natural on camera".
John resides in Reno Nevada but greatly enjoys travelling and will happily travel anywhere for a roll.
