A former US President, Adams was in Washington, DC, giving a speech at the House of Representatives protesting the US-Mexican War on Feb. 21, 1848, when he suffered a stroke and collapsed on the floor. He died two days later in the Capitol building.
He and wife Louisa had two children, sons John II and Charles Francis.
Before his presidency he resided in Ealing, London (UK) between 1815-1817, in his role as a US representative.
