Pedro Guedes is a born and raised Rio de Janeiro composer, arranger, and producer. With more than 20 years of experience and a passion for tones and textures. The composer has been developing his brand in film scoring, bringing together a perfect mix of classical and contemporary music, making use of guitars, synthesizers, and ethnical instruments among the orchestra. The multi-instrumentalist got his music degree from Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) and refined his abilities in Music Production and Sound Engineering at London's Point Blank Music School.
Guedes started his career in his early twenties when he started scoring for film and TV - including additional music for the box office hit Elite Squad (2007) and for several shows at TV Globo.
During his years collaborating with Globo, Guedes was responsible for creating the musical identity of the broadcasting of big sporting events such as the 2016 and 2020s Olympic Games, the 2014 and 2018s FIFA World Cup, as well as Globo's journalistic coverage and programs.
His music appears on 5 I-Emmy Nominated films and programs, such as Tower of David (2015) Syria On The Run (2016) and Allies (2020) in the Current Affairs category, Verdades Secretas (2016), Telenovela winner and Jornal Nacional Covid Coverage (2021) in the News category.
Pedro has worked in many other TV/streaming hit shows such as Ilha de Ferro - season 1 and 2 (2018/2019), O Outro Lado do Paraíso (2018), and Doutor Castor (2021), as well as many documentaries including award winners: Fenix: David's Dream and Maale: Desejo de Paz.
The craft of Pedro Guedes can also be found outside of the film scoring industry in his collaborations in the recording industry, such as Delia Fischer's 2019 Latin Grammy award-nominated album Tempo Mínimo. His love for mixing electronic music with classical arrangements led him to perform on the runways of New York and São Paulo Fashion Weeks composing and performing original soundtracks for fashion shows.
