Bhasker Vishwanathan is an Indian poet, screenwriter, and director who was born on 17 December 1989. With the 2022 KIFF 28th edition short film "Freedom Fighte," Vishwanathan made his directorial debut ( Kolkata ). His second film under his direction has not yet been made public. He authored the screenplay and dialogue for the award-winning Hindi feature film Bhor: Dawn (2021), which is about a girl from an untouchable community who fights against open defecation. He has contributed as an assistant director to the films Love All (with Kay Kay Menon), and #Article35A (A documentary on human rights issue in Jammu & Kashmir).
His short "Main Azad Hoon" helped him get picked for the Screenwriting category in the second edition of 75CMOT, a programme by NFDC and IFFI, Goa. Since then, NFDC and Shortstv have chosen his script "Almost" as one of five to be made as part of the 53-hour film challenge.
