A woman of Malyangapa and Barkindji descent, Sasha has a passion for the film
industry and loves being creative. Sasha has been investing her time into growing her
skills as a director and DOP, focusing on documentary format.
Sasha has a wide range of experience working across many formats of filmmaking.
Unleashing her creativity as a Visual Designer for a theatre production, public
installations of documentary video and photo art, and travelling art exhibitions across
Australia and internationally.
Sasha founded her company Red Handed Productions in 2017 to give representation to
First Nations stories in Australia and empower the development of First Nations
practitioners in the corporate field of filmmaking and photography.
Sasha has experience working on TV productions such as Barrumbi kids 2022 through the Screen Queensland attachment
program, InLimbo 2023 as a video split operator and 1st AC on independent film The
Finish Line 2023 and shadowing a director in advertising campaigns through Taxi films.
Sasha is well known for her skills as a documentary filmmaker and for her techniques in
visual storytelling. Some of her notable credits include director, DOP and editor of WE
ARE ONE (story of the first XI) 10mins documentary style piece (used in art exhibition),
DOP, creative producer and editor of Carbon_dating (native grass project with First Nations collaboration).
Her award winning credits are for her projects Shake it- Music video as writer, director
and producer of and short film Fallen where she was director and producer.
Sasha is taking her career to the next level, dedicating her time to climbing the
film industry ladder with the goals of being a household name as a director and DOP in
the Australian film scene alongside her fellow First Nations peers.
