“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!”
Oh, wait. You don’t have six fingers on your right hand? Sorry, our mistake.
A classic tale of true love and high adventure, The Princess Bride invaded theatres on October 9, 1987 and has been romancing audiences ever since. After all, true love is the greatest thing in the world! Well, except for a nice Mlt.
Based on William Goldman’s 1973 fantasy-romance novel, the film was directed by the legendary Rob Reiner (This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally…) and features a swashbuckling cast, including Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn, and André the Giant. After earning a modest $30.8M at the box office upon its release, the...

Unlike many festivals, which morph into very different shapes as they grow, the Hamptons Film Festival, which kicks off its 25th edition today, has remained nearly as consistent as Atlantic Ocean waves crashing on the sand. Its approach has been shaped by its seasonal timing—early autumn, when days are sunny and crisp and awards season is just taking shape—and its location just 100 miles from New York City and in the hedge-bordered back yard of tastemakers and Oscar…...

It’s been 20 years since James Cameron made one of the biggest blockbuster dramas of all time. Hurricane Harvey victims who escaped rising floodwaters are now returning home to examine the destruction.
In the week since Harvey made landfall, thousands of residents in Texas and Louisiana found refuge in shelters across the states. Floodwaters overtook entire neighborhoods, damaging at least 49,000 homes in Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. In all, some 785,000 people were part of mandatory evacuations in Texas and Lousiana, and more than 200,000 homes are still without power. Officials are now allowing a portion of evacuees to return to their properties, and the process of rebuilding their homes, and their lives, begins.

It’s Bill. Bill who? Bill Potts. You know the one, the girl with the boy’s name who The Doctor met at the University he was teaching at. Bill makes her comic book debut somewhat ironically this issue just as we saw her and The Twelfth Doctor’s final adventure screen on TV last week. The TV show helped us see how their relationship began, and how it seemingly ended, this book will help us see what great adventures they had in between. The cover this issue, by Claudia Ianniciello, of The Doctor and Bill is an absolute stunner too, capturing likenesses and personality in one painted picture to perfection.
The Wolves of Winter arc takes us off to the Ninth Century Atlantic Ocean, and a Viking ship carrying a mysterious treasure to a mysterious place. Colour me intrigued.
