Vedat Xhymshiti is a war correspondent and journalist with frontline experience of the Syrian civil war. His sublime work and imagery has been published in Der Spiegel, Die Welt, New York Times and Le Monde ect. Xhymshiti is also founder of VXPictures.com - in addition to his roles as a print media critic, columnist for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, contributor at Foreign Policy Journal and Kosovo 2.0 Magazine, and author at Kosovo's leading online Newspaper "Gazeta Express".
As a documentary photographer, Vedat has been freelancing for VICE.com, ZUMAWireService.com, IMAGO-stock.de in addition to well known and established US and European News Magazines. He has also provided imagery for EPA and AFP - his pictures from Syria of a 'face painted Syrian boy' and a Mother who mourn her baby-child, were chosen as 'Best of the News' by Getty Images.
As a filmmaker for AP London bureau News Television, Xhymshiti recorded the frontline battles between the Syrian government forces and the rebels in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo. He is able to speak and write Albanian and English fluently and has a good command of Serbian, French, German and Arabic.
In March 2017 he was assigned to photographically document the making-of 'PRAWN' a movie directed and produced by Nicola Quilter.
