As the final episode of Jane the Virgin is upon us, the cast got super emotional at the start of their PaleyFest panel. Star and executive producer Gina Rodriguez shed some tears as she and co-star Justin Baldoni remembered when they first started the show and how they had the opportunity to share their gifts with the world. The emotional moment soon turned into a fun lovefest and moderator Leanne Aguilera from Entertainment Tonight attempting to pull spoilers for the fifth and final season the cast. Show creator Jennie Snyder Urman and the cast kept tight-lipped, but they did spill some details.
Rodriguez, Baldoni and Urman were joined on stage by Andrea Navedo, Yael Grobglas, Elias Janssen, Jaime Camil, Anthony Mendez and Brett Dier. Missing from the panel was Ivonne Coll who was working on the spinoff Jane the Novela but was certainly there in spirit. Nonetheless, no time was...

While Jane the Virgin will be ending for good with its fifth and final season beginning on March 27, that doesn't mean the magic is over. The CW has officially given the green light to a Jane the Virgin spinoff pilot, adorably titled Jane the Novela.
Though there's no word on which of our favorite Jane the Virgin actors will star in the spinoff, we do know that the show will be a telenovela anthology in the same vein as its sister series. Each season will be based on a different fictional novel "written by" Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) and narrated by the author herself. The series's first installment will take place at a Napa Valley Vineyard and focus on a family whose secrets don't stay buried for long. Jane writer Valentina Garza will pen the script, as well as executive-produce alongside Rodriguez and Jane showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman. Ben Silverman...

Jane the Virgin will live on. Despite the fact that the show is ending after its fifth season later this year, it appears rumors of a spinoff are no longer just rumors. Gina Rodriguez posted a picture on both Instagram and Twitter of herself and the boy who plays her son Mateo, Elias Janssen, along with a caption reading, "We got some good news from the CW! Jane will be birthing a Spin Off!!!!! Jane the Novelas!!!" That title seems to go with the reports that the spinoff will be an anthology series telling stories from different books written by Jane (who is an aspiring author on the show), with voiceover by Rodriguez. The first season would reportedly be called "Tar &...

Jane Villanueva is still a mom in Season 4… but her son Mateo looks a little different.
In the new Season 4 poster for The CW’s Jane the Virgin, we see star Gina Rodriguez paired up with a new face: Elias Janssen, who’ll play Jane’s son Mateo in the new season, debuting Friday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c. (Sources tell TVLine that Joseph Sanders, the young actor who played Mateo last season, is busy with school.) Jane looks a little overwhelmed in the poster, with a grinning Mateo sitting on her shoulders and a tagline that reads: “Relationship status: It’s mom-plicated.
