Born in year 1975 in Poznan, Poland. Graduated from the elite Lodz Film School as Director of Photography (direction of photography, animation and special effects, photography, television production).
One of his short films got the 1st prize at the Berlin Film Festival in year 1997, Brown Bear prize in Austria (Linz) in year 1997, and the 2nd prize at the Independent Film Festival UNICA 97. His full-length feature film 'A Distant World' was the first independent movie shown at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 1998. This film was also screened at the Polish Film Festival in Chicago. Artur was the producer and cinematographer of the movie. Since 1998 Artur has been producing and directing the biggest open-air Passion play in Europe. The spectacle, played in the Posnanian Citadel, has been watched already by 1.5 million people, and was transmitted live in the various TV stations. Artur Piotrowski is its originator, director and producer. The Mystery of the Passion is a self-financing undertaking. The actors are volunteers and do not receive any remuneration. In addition to actors, about 650 people are involved with the Mystery. These include set designers, a director, sound and light operators, sound engineers, scaffolding builders, a 300-member choir and a 50-person symphony orchestra. The Mystery is also a beautiful play of sound and light. APM aviation headlights and unusual passion songs complete the whole, creating a mystical, emotional atmosphere.
