Some Jewish influencers are not happy with TikTok‘s response to inflammatory language. During a private call held five weeks after the outbreak of war in the Middle East, celebs like Sacha Baron Cohen, Debra Messing, and Amy Schumer criticized TikTok’s perceived inaction toward a growing “antisemitic movement” on its platform.
The call was organized by TikTok’s Head of Operations, Adam Presser, and its Global Head of User Operations Seth Melnick. The execs, both of whom are Jewish, held the meeting to discuss the alarming rise of antisemitic rhetoric on TikTok since October 7. At least 30 people joined the call, including the Jewish celebs listed above.
“What is happening at TikTok is it is creating the biggest antisemitic movement since the Nazis,” Baron Cohen said during the call. He argued that TikTok could simply “flip a switch” to curb Jewish hate among its community.

Plant-based aviation fuel may reduce CO2 emissions for planes and rockets.
"Plant-based aviation fuel could offer 10 percent higher density and reduce carbon emissions, particularly when used for long-haul flights or space rockets, according to a new paper. The paper, published Thursday in the journal Joule, details a method for creating jet fuel from cellulose. This is found in plant cell walls, meaning teams can take plant waste from agriculture and other areas for conversion. The resultant formula has a density 10 percent higher than regular fuel."

Lately, we’ve all gotten so used to seeing people at the highest levels of government committing crimes right out in the open, that when you hear about an Instagram account stealing jokes and passing them off as their own, it’s easy for most of us to shrug it off. But what Elliot Tebele and his media empire Jerry Media have been doing should concern everyone.
Jerry Media, an advertising company masquerading as a “meme page,” operates an extremely popular Instagram account called @fuckjerry with enough “influence” to reportedly...

Tim Heidecker has released a new song aimed at online marketing brand FuckJerry. The song, titled “Fuck Fuck Jerry,” is a melodic ballad that targets the social media agency behind the disastrous Fyre Festival, Jerry Media, and its founder Elliot Tebele.
While Jerry Media was hired to promote Fyre Fest, they have yet to take any culpability for their involvement with the event. Netflix said Monday it has acquired Chris Smith’s Fyre, a documentary about the uber-fail 2017 Fyre Festival in the Bahamas that spawned lawsuits over its poor organization and false claims. Smith, who directed Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, connected with the organizers to tell a behind the scenes tale. Netflix will bow the docu on January 18.
Created by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, Fyre was promoted as a luxury music festival on a private island featuring bikini-clad supermodels, A-List musical performances and posh amenities. The reality was far from the promises — boxed lunches, a tent city and no music. McFarland was sentenced in October to six years in prison for fraud.
Check out the Frye teaser above.
Smith wrote and directed and produced with Vice Studios’ Danny Gabai and Jerry Media’s Mick Purzycki. Brett Kincaid, Max Pollack, Matthew Rowean, Gabrielle Bluestone, James Ohliger and Elliot Tebele are executive producers.
