Alisa Shamrow was born in Moscow, Russia, and a year later, she emigrated with her parents to the United States. Raised in NY and NJ, she went on to study finance at Lehigh University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics.
Alisa currently trains with Ted Sluberski and Anthony Abeson. She has also trained with Larry Singer, as well as with Van Hansis at MN Studios. In addition, Alisa writes scenes/sketches in both Russian and English, and has performed in and produced her own work.
She has also been a published singer/songwriter since 2005. Her notable achievements in music to date include three albums and two singles. Several of her songs have been featured on Dance Moms (2011) and Raising Asia (2014), including the hits "Please", "Cuz We're Alright", "Wish", "Fly" and "Unless We Can Say" which have collectively been downloaded and streamed globally over 1 million times. Alisa continues to be a prolific singer and songwriter, writing and releasing new music frequently.
Alisa has also worked for online publications for which she hosted several movie premiers and events in New York City. These include The Dark Knight (2008) World Premier at Lincoln Square Cinemas (interviewing actors such as Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal) and the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (2009) at Radio City Music Hall (interviewing guests such as Jack Black, Jason Derulo and Pete Wentz).
Alisa is married and has 2 sons, for whom she writes children's songs. Her family lives in NYC.
