Despite their best efforts, the professionals at Saturday Night Live find themselves laughing right along with us every now and then. It’s such a storied tradition that Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler even sang a song about breaking during the show’s 40th anniversary special.
Although the performers are supposed to avoid it at all costs, getting the giggles during sketches has led to some of the funniest moments in SNL history, so we’re looking back at some of those classic crack-ups that still get us every time.

Melissa McCarthy is truly a gift to us all. And now, thanks to her work as Sean Spicer on the past season of Saturday Night Live, the comedic genius just nabbed this year’s outstanding guest actress in a comedy series Emmy.

Bob Odenkirk's 30-plus-year career has included a stint as an SNL writer, a groundbreaking sketch series (Mr. Show), stand-up comedy, and, most recently, Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad prequel in which he gives a brilliant performance as "morally flexible" lawyer Jimmy McGill. And how has the 54-year-old actor's outlook changed over that three-decade span? "As a young man I was the fuckin' expert on comedy, on who was funny and who wasn't funny and who's a douchebag," he says. "I still feel those things but I don't think I'm so right.

All-time great “Saturday Night Live” Halloween-themed sketches could feasibly begin and end with the recent Tom Hanks-starring David S. Pumpkins sketch — he’s his own thing! — but with more than forty seasons under their collective belt, the venerable NBC sketch comedy show has a few other classics to show off, too.
In celebration of the spooky holiday, the show has put together some of their Halloween-themed favorites under the banner of an “SNL Celebrates Halloween” montage, one that includes such classic characters as Vincent Price, Matt Foley, Drunk Uncle and many, many more. Garth and Kat are there in natty sweaters, Stefan provides some stellar trick and/or treating tips and even President Obama himself shows up for a shocking holiday twist.

Who knew SNL after-parties were so tween-friendly? Making an appearance on The Late Late Show Thursday night, Olivia Wilde shared a wonderful story about the time she met Chris Farley at the tender age of 10. A self-proclaimed "fat kid," Wilde found herself at the dessert table ("as usual") at the fête, only to be quickly joined by the comedic legend for some brownie-eating shenanigans. No word if he broke out a Matt Foley impression during the endearing moment.
