Nigel Farage failed in his quest to win I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last night as he finished third in the final of the ITV juggernaut, which saw viewing decline dramatically from last year’s closer.
Farage equalled former Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s finish last year, as ITV’s penchant for throwing controversial politicians into the jungle continued into 2023.
But the show lost a whopping 4M viewers from last year’s finale, tumbling to just 6.5M with a share of 42%, peaking with 7.5M. The show failed to even top the daily charts behind the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing results show. In 2022, 10.4M (54.2%) watched the final when footballer Jill Scott took home the crown. That ep peaked with 11.5M during a top-rated season. The launch of 2022 was also well up on 2023, by around 2M, although Gb News producer Ben Leo accidentally tweeted otherwise three weeks ago.

In its initial opening weekend, "Creed III" genuinely knocked out box office expectations (and records), its competition, and prior "Rocky" first weekends all in one punch. This third franchise entry sees Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) confronted by his past in the form of childhood-friend-turned-enemy Damian "Dame" Anderson (Jonathan Majors). Following an early situation that left Dame locked up while Adonis got away, Dame reemerges after almost two decades' incarceration with dreams of restoring his once-promising early boxing career. It's yet another memorable performance from the electric Majors in bringing Dame to life, alongside Michael B. Jordan expanding the "Creed" universe as both filmmaker and star.
While "Creed III" certainly boasts great performances and stunningly executed fights, one of its greatest elements is the film's attention to detail, showcasing the filmmakers' love for and knowledge of the sport of boxing. Woven into Dame's arc, character, style, and fighting habits are...

Just as Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has stepped out of the shadow of his father Apollo (Carl Weathers) and mentor Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), "Creed" now stands on its own two legs as a franchise. The first film, where Adonis sought out Rocky to train him, followed a formula that's become known as a "legacy sequel" -- hit the beats of the original and mix old characters with new ones filling familiar archetypes.
The thing about legacy sequels is they tend to be more legacy, less sequel. The old stars usually overshadow the new ones, who fail to leave an impression. But not this time. The endurance of "Creed" is even more remarkable given the different fundamentals it operates on compared to contemporary film franchises.
The most consistently successful are superheroes. "Creed," though, is about sports. The "Rocky" series certainly got outlandish, while the introduction of Adonis' childhood friend-turned-rival...

Michael B. Jordan not only stars in Creed III but also makes his directorial debut. During the Hollywood premiere at the Chinese Theatre, Jordan introduced the entire cast of the film and gave an emotional speech.
“This journey over the last three years has been incredible. Never thought I could do what y’all say I did,” he said. “I couldn’t have done that without the people that I just named in this incredible, incredible cast. It’s a team effort”
Jordan continued, “Every day I tried to show up and I wanted to impress them. I wanted to let them know that I wasn’t doing it just to do the job. And finding the truth within the Creed family was really, really important to us. So, thank you, guys, so much for having my back every step of the way, even when it’s difficult.”

Michael B. Jordan is opening up about how important it was for him to make Creed III more “honest to the sport of boxing” by incorporating elements of Mexican culture.
Fans of the boxing franchise got a glimpse of Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez making an appearance in the trailer for the new film. The Mexican boxing star is one of the biggest names in the combat sport and predecessors like Julio César Chávez helped raise the notoriety of the sport.
“We just looked back, you know, it’s the history of boxing, and the Mexican culture is such a pillar within the sport of boxing and felt like there wasn’t really a lot of representation throughout the films in that type of way. And it just didn’t seem like the reality I lived in. So I wanted to incorporate Mexican culture into this film,” Jordan said during a press conference according to Slash Film.

Next year’s “Creed III” will be a fresh start for the “Rocky” spinoff franchise in more ways than one. It will be the first “Creed” movie without the involvement of Sylvester Stallone, who executive produced and played Rocky Balboa in the first two films in addition to writing “Creed II.” The film will also be Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut, something he said was “always an aspiration.”
Without the shadow of Rocky Balboa, “Creed II” places Jordan’s Adonis Creed front and center. But Jordan doesn’t want to hog all the spotlight.
At a recent press conference to promote the movie (via Slash Film), Jordan spoke about his decision to cast Mexican boxer Canelo Álvarez in his first acting role. While the “Rocky” franchise has a proud tradition of casting former boxers, Jordan’s saw the casting as an opportunity to highlight Mexican boxers. He said it...

There is a long history of boxing in cinema. Even before there were motion pictures, kinetoscopic recordings of boxing were distributed and shown among fans. Over the decades, the sport, with its larger-than-life personas, minimalistic iconography, and opportunity for primal violence became a staple of the cinema medium. There have been prestige boxing movies, and there have been empty-fun popcorn boxing movies.
A titan among these movies, of course, is the "Rocky" franchise. From its indie roots and its poignant underdog story to its over-the-top live-action anime sequels that defy all logic but still deliver thrills, laughs, and big emotions, there is no stopping this franchise. The franchise even comments on the real world, as with a focus on the latest technology and engineering the greatest boxer in Ivan Drago during "Rocky IV."
But as fun as those movies are, they are not really representative of the real world, either...

Adonis Creed is stepping back into the ring. And for the first time ever, he won’t be flanked by his longtime trainer Rocky Balboa.
While Michael B. Jordan’s eponymous character has always been the protagonist of the “Creed” franchise, Sylvester Stallone inevitably cast a large shadow over him in the first two films. But that’s about to change in “Creed III,” the first film in the “Rocky” spinoff franchise not to feature Stallone’s involvement on either side of the camera. In addition to reprising his role as Adonis Creed, Jordan is making his directorial debut on the film, working from a script written by Ryan Coogler, Keenan Coogler, and Zach Baylin.
The new film follows Adonis Creed as he goes to battle with Damian Anderson, a fierce new boxing opponent played by Jonathan Majors. Majors certainly gave the role everything he had — he recently revealed that...

Sylvester Stallone might be tossing in the towel on Rocky Balboa: The actor, whose boxing hero has been looking tigers in the eye since the 1976 Rocky, suggests in an Instagram post that the recently released Creed II will mark his final involvement in the 42-year franchise.
“I just want to thank everyone around the whole wide World for taking the Rocky family into their hearts for over 40 years,” Stallone wrote in a post that accompanied a video of what seems to be a beach bonfire gathering of the Creed II cast and crew. “It’s been my Ultimate privilege to have been able to create and play this meaningful character. Though it breaks my heart, Sadly all things must pass… and end. I love you Kind and generous people , and The most wonderful thing of all , is that Rocky will never die because he lives on in you ….”

On Michael B. Jordan’s first trip to Cannes for the Ryan Coogler-directed Fruitvale Station, the young actor walked wide-eyed down the Croisette, smiling when fans shouted, “Where’s Wallace?” a signature line about his tragic character from the HBO series The Wire. Jordan is the first to admit that, while growing up in front of the camera, he was lucky to be in the right place when cast in that seminal series, as well as Friday Night Lights. But he has shown remarkably good judgment in his transition to adulthood. He is emerging as a major star, not just because he’s got the acting chops, but for his willingness to work harder than anyone else.
He would confirm it with his second film for Coogler, the Rocky sequel Creed. Jordan trained hard, sure, but then Coogler headed to Philadelphia to scout gyms and watched the footwork of the fighters there.

He may be fictional, but the headline above isn’t too far from the truth. More than 30 years since Dolph Lundgren brought him to life on the big screen for the one and only time in 1985’s Rocky IV, the character of Ivan Drago looks odds-on to re-surface in the next chapter of the saga, Creed 2.
Whether or not this would be Lundgren himself once more is questionable, as the Swedish action man is now 59 years old. Instead it may be his son or a protégé that will be spoiling for a fight with Adonis Creed, whose father Apollo was slain in the ring by Drago.
Not that realism has ever worried Sylvester Stallone in the past. Every part of the Rocky franchise has, to some degree, blown a big fat raspberry in the face of plausibility and just got on with being immensely entertaining (well, apart from the fifth...

Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa turns trainer to a young star in a decent boxing picture with room for a sequel
In 2006’s Rocky Balboa, Sly Stallone’s ageing boxer was ridiculously called out of retirement for one last fight, going toe-to-toe with Antonio Tarver’s Mason “The Line” Dixon. After such nonsense, surely there could be no life left in this serial punchbag? Astonishingly, there is – and the result has already earned Stallone his first Golden Globe, for best supporting actor. I love a good cinematic surprise, and boy oh boy did I get one last week when I saw Creed. This sixth sequel in the Rocky franchise is also a spinoff, focusing on the son of Apollo Creed as opposed to just Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa. It’s also one of the best movies of the year so far, masterfully done by filmmaker Ryan Coogler. I expected very little, but this film blew me away. It’s now something that I consider a dark horse awards player, in particular for Stallone. Hard to believe, I know, but believe. The flick is out today and is a must see, so hopefully I can convince you now… The film centers on Adonis Johnson (Jordan), who finds out he’s the son of Apollo Creed and sets off to follow in his father’s footsteps. He tracks down retired and broken down...

Chronicling the blood, sweat and tears shed getting into shape for the role of Adonis Johnson, today brings forth a new featurette for Creed that places Michael B. Jordan firmly in the limelight, which ought to get moviegoers amped up about the drama’s arrival.
It lands in theaters today, November 25, and the first wave of reviews for the quasi-sequel have been overly positive. Reuniting with his Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler, Jordan takes point as Adonis, the son of legendary world champion Apollo Creed, the fierce rival that quickly became one of Rocky Balboa’s few friends across the original franchise.
And so, Jordan’s driven protagonist locates the former Italian Stallion in order to be versed in the tricks of the trade, and despite Rocky’s apprehension at first, he soon discovers a fiery ambition in Adonis that echoes his late father.

One of the great strengths of the Rocky franchise is its sense of a true continuing narrative, rather than a momentum-devoid series of rehashes orchestrated purely for financial gain. From the original Rocky through Rocky III, and again with 2006’s Rocky Balboa, the series’ characters actually change in interesting, logical, and significant ways from film to film. We’ll neglect the more perfunctory Rocky IV and Rocky V for this argument, but it’s remarkable nonetheless that such a blockbuster film series has maintained such a sense of narrative integrity for the lion’s share of its run. Balboa seemed poised as a lovely swan song to the franchise’s legacy, but, like Rocky himself rising from the mat to claim an unlikely late-bout victory, the new film Creed proves that there’s still a surprising amount of juice in the decades-spanning series.

Chicago – This is what happens when passionate filmmakers come into a known movie project – with an obvious love for the previous stories and characters – and create a new chapter that both evolves and honors its source. “Creed” does all of that, and gives the beloved Rocky Balboa one more time in the spotlight.

Creed
Written by Ryan Coogler & Aaron Covington
Directed by Ryan Coogler
USA, 2015
Creed, the seventh film in the venerable Rocky series, feels completely fresh despite revisiting some very familiar territory. Proving that his stellar 2013 debut Fruitvale Station was no fluke, writer-director Ryan Coogler cleverly disguises this quiet character drama as a boxing extravaganza. Coogler’s knack for perceptive dialogue and subtle characterization harkens back to the spirit of Stallone’s original masterpiece. The lack of a compelling villain prevents Creed from eclipsing the original, but it’s easily the second best film in the series and a quality picture in its own right.
When Apollo Creed died in the ring during Rocky IV, he left behind not only a brilliant boxing career, but an unborn son. The product of an extra-marital affair, Adonis ‘Creed’ Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) has spent his entire life shadow-boxing his father’s legacy. Creed puts...

Early on in Creed, the seventh installment of the Rocky franchise, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) shadowboxes in front of a screen projecting footage of a bout between Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), and his father, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). It’s a sharp composition, but the positioning is the revealing aspect, as Jordan’s stationary form overlaps with both Rocky and Apollo – the David and Goliath relationship of the Rocky series.
There’s few greater visual metaphors for Creed as both a character, and as the continuation of a successful franchise than this image. Despite its reputation as an iconic underdog story, Rocky — and the franchise by extension — aren’t dark horses anymore, and neither is Adonis.
Director Ryan Coogler taps into something existential about the Rocky story. He knows that the legacy of Rocky will always tower over Creed, but by transforming those expectations into a mirror for its protagonist,...

Standing atop the Philadelphia Art Museum’s iconic steps, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter proclaimed Wednesday, November 25 “Creed” Day in honor of the upcoming film – opening that same day – which explores the next chapter in the “Rocky” saga.
Creed stars Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson joined Mayor Nutter on Friday to receive the official proclamation. The film’s writer/director, Ryan Coogler, and producer Irwin Winkler were also on hand.
The film, which brings Rocky Balboa face-to-face with the son of his one-time rival and best friend, Apollo Creed, was shot in and around the City of Brotherly Love. The museum steps, and the statue of Rocky that stands at the bottom of them, can, in fact, be seen in Creed.

In 2006, many believed that Rocky Balboa (or Rocky 6, for those keeping track) sounded the death knell for the long-in-the-tooth boxing series. Low and behold, almost a decade has passed and now Sylvester Stallone is primed to return for a role he made famous – albeit in a different capacity. Rather than going all 12 rounds himself, Stallone’s Rocky Balboa will pick up the coach mantle for Creed, which stars Michael B. Jordan as the hot up-and-comer.
Partnering once again with Ryan Coogler following their collaboration on Fruitvale Station, Jordan is playing the role of Adonis Johnson, disillusioned son to the late, great heavyweight champ Apollo Creed – hence the title. When the pair cross paths, Stallone’s Italian Stallion begrudgingly agrees to train Adonis, recognizing an all-too-familiar glint of determination in the eye of the would-be world beater. Jordan’s brawler lacks discipline, though, and as today’s brand new trailer attests,...

"I've been fighting my whole life. It's not a choice for me," says Michael B. Jordan in the new trailer for "Creed," a spinoff of the "Rocky" franchise.
Indeed, fighting is in Adonis Johnson's DNA. He's the son of Rocky's (Sylvester Stallone) one-time foe, heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. His father is dead, and Adonis has been in and out of juvie multiple times. But he gets a shot to live up to his heritage when Rocky steps in to train him.
The "Rocky" franchise has spawned many sequels, but this looks like a reboot that could carry it into new generations. Jordan is as magnetic and charismatic as ever, as he re-teams with his "Fruitvale Station" director Ryan Coogler. And dare we say, Stallone shows off some decent emotional acting chops.
"Creed" also stars Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, and Anthony Bellew, and opens in theaters November 25.

Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone star in the latest Rocky Balboa movie, Creed...
Arriving in Us cinemas in November, although not heading to the UK until early 2016, is Creed. This is the latest addition to the Rocky movie series, although it's more of a spin-off than a straight sequel.
The focus this time is on the son of Apollo Creed, played by Jordan. With boxing in his blood, he heads to Philadelphia, tracks down Rocky Balboa (Stallone, natch), and persuades him to be his trainer. And Creed Jr wants his own shot at boxing greatness. It wouldn't be much of a film if he didn't get it, either.
The movie reunites Jordan with his Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler, and co-stars Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellew. Coogler penned the screenplay with Aaron Covington.
A new trailer for Creed landed overnight, to give a further taste of the film that lies ahead.

With Floyd Mayweather packing in audiences, boxing is back in a big way, and the line-up at multiplexes reflects that: we’ve already had “Southpaw” this year, and next year will see both Miles Teller and Edgar Ramirez donning the gloves and shorts. But undoubtedly the highest profile is “Creed,” which continues the biggest and longest-running series in the genre: “Rocky.” As the title might suggest, the focus has shifted in the new film from Ryan Coogler (“Fruitvale Station”). The central character is Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the talented but reckless son of Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers in the earlier films), with Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky now working as his trainer who has been stricken by cancer. Buzz has been building on the picture for a while, and with the release now only a few months off, Warner Bros has debuted a new trailer for the movie,...

Across six films and three decades, Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa became a household name; the underdogs of all underdogs, his saga from up-and-coming boxer to world champion was one of the most iconic character arcs of the 70s and early 80s. But for Ryan Coogler’s Creed, Stallone is taking one step back from the limelight – even handing over script duties to Coogler and Aaron Covington – in order to coach the new kid on the block, Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Johnson.
What makes this dynamic between trainer and trainee so intriguing, though, is the fact that Jordan’s up-and-comer is the son of former world heavyweight champ, Apollo Creed. Played by Carl Weathers across the original films, Rocky’s enemy-turned-ally was ultimately killed at the cannon-like hand of Dolph Lundgren’s Russian boxer, Drogo. When Ryan Coogler's Sundance and Cannes winner "Fruitvale Station" hit theaters in July, MGM quickly scooped up the maverick indie to write and direct this seventh film in the "Rocky" series, co-penned by Aaron Covington. How will Coogler fare on a big-budget Hollywood canvas? We shall see when Warner Bros. opens "Creed" on the awards (and family) friendly date of November 25. "Creed" takes the original Apollo Creed/Rocky Balboa story and follows Adonis Creed (a ripped Michael B. Jordan), the son of world heavyweight champ Apollo, trying to make his way in Philadelphia. He turns to Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), his father's close friend and fierce rival, for help and mentorship. Judging from footage in CinemaCon and the trailer below, it looks gritty and terrific. "It's not 'Rocky 7,'" Stallone told exhibitors. Tessa Thompson and real-life boxers Tony Bellew and Andrew Ward round out the...

"Creed" is already a hit online, but will it be a knockout in theaters this November? The movie's tagline is "Your legacy is more than a name," but the names Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, and Michael B. Jordan are selling this latest entry into the "Rocky" franchise.
The first official "Creed" trailer dropped last night and it already has more than 1,025,000 YouTube views. Jordan stars as the son of Apollo Creed, who heads to Philadelphia to track down his late father's legendary rival-turned-friend, Rocky Balboa, to ask him to be his own trainer.
Here's the 2 minute, 43 second trailer. It doesn't even reveal Stallone until the halfway point, emphasizing that this isn't his story.
"Creed" is directed by Ryan Coogler, who knocked it out of the park (more sports metaphors!) with Michael B. Jordan in "Fruitvale Station." "Creed" co-stars Phylicia Rashad, Tessa Thompson, Tony Bellew, Wood Harris ("The Wire" reunion!
