The Taiwan Creative Content Fest (Tccf) is set to take place on a larger and more international scale this year, presenting a record 53 projects with international productions included for the first time.
Project pitching is one of the main sections of Tccf, the content licensing and project investment market organised by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (Taicca), which will run from November 7-10 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei. A record 539 submissions from 29 regions were received this year. The total cash prizes are worth more than $150,000.

South Korea’s Bucheon International Film Festival (Bifan), Asia’s largest genre film festival, has revealed 29 titles from 18 countries for this year’s Network of Asian Fantastic Films (Naff) project market.
The 17 titles selected for the It Project strand include Biraa from Taiwanese writer/director Bhaskar Hazarika, whose transgressive love story Ravening played Tribeca in 2019.

Netflix is doubling down on Mandarin-language content after picking up Taiwanese horror drama Green Door.
The Svod service is launching the series on March 16 in more than 190 countries and has said that the acquisition adds to the “increasing diversity and breadth of content that Netflix has to offer.”
The series launched on Taiwan’s Public Television Service in February and airs in a weekly Saturday slot. It is adapted from Taiwanese author Joseph Chen’s novel of the same title and directed by Lingo Hsieh, known for her fantasy-horror movie The Bride, which she co-created with Takashige Ichise.
Green Door tells the story of Sung-Yen Wei, played by Jam Hsiao, a troubled psychologist who returns from the U.S. to set up his own practice in Taiwan, where mysterious patients and uncanny events shed light on his murky past.
