Juanita Ebbs is an emerging based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Juanitas' work is concerned with myth, symbolism, the metaphysical, and New Sincerity. These interact to create a synthesis of the old and new, used to imagine new futures and reveal dormant truths. In her work, Juanita aims to exhume multiple - and sometimes conflicting - readings and perspectives for both herself and her audience. In her practice, she uses academic methods to scrutinise and reflect on the nature of storytelling itself, furthering her understanding of screen media and all other visual arts.
Juanita is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Communications (Media) majoring in Cinema Studies at RMIT. She has assisted and participated in varying roles on film and photographic sets at both amateur and professional levels. Her work has been featured in Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Melbourne Women in Film Festival, Sydney & Melbourne Lift Off Film Festival, Lido's Short Stack, and Byron Bay Film Festival.
