Laura Cross is the professional name of Laura Holycross. She is a writer, producer, director, published author, and founder of Rebel Seed Films and Entertainment, which focuses on developing projects inspired by true events.
Laura's first produced film is the action/war drama Devil Dogs (2017) Based on true events during the Iraq War, the short narrative film premiered at the 2017 GI Film Festival in Washington, D.C. during Memorial Day weekend, and was distributed for television broadcast by ShortsTV in the U.S. and Europe.
Laura earned a certificate in Feature Film Writing from University of California, Los Angeles - Extension (UCLA-E), and completed courses in UCLA-E's respected Independent Film Producer Program.
Prior to filmmaking, Laura spent several years in finance including the accounting departments of production companies, and as the controller in the Los Angeles office of a global private equity firm, as well as in event sales and as a professional ghostwriter of nonfiction books.
She is the host of several podcasts, including Rebel Writer/Filmmaker.
Born and raised in Detroit, Laura is a long-time resident of the West Coast and spent time living in the Southwest. She holds dual American and Australian citizenship.
