This evening the Everyman Borough Yards in London was the scene of the premiere of Emily, Frances O’Connor’s directorial debut.
The film tells the imagined life of one of the world’s most famous authors, Emily Brontë, starring Emma Mackey as Emily, a rebel and misfit, as she finds her voice and writes the literary classic Wuthering Heights.
The story explores the relationships that inspired her – her raw, passionate sisterhood with Charlotte (Alexandra Dowling – “The Musketeers”) and Anne (Amelia Gething – “The Spanish Princess”); her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman and her care for her maverick brother whom she idolises.
The film also stars Adrian Dunbar (“Line of Duty”) and Gemma Jones.
Emily will be released in cinemas on 14th October by Warner Bros. Pictures. Colin Hart and Scott Davis were on the red carpet, seeking inspiration in the London ether.

It’s always a pleasure to see a British film not only live up to the potential of the cast and the crew, but to surpass all expectations in such a dazzling, humble manner is a treat indeed.
Pride, the new film from director Matthew Warchus and writer Stephen Beresford, premiered in London this evening and we were on the carpet to catch those in attendance. The film tells the strange and wonderful tale of a curious alliance formed in the 80s between a group of Lgbt activists and the miners affected by the government’s brutal policies. This is a recipe for great things, with a tangible sense of joy, and a very funny script, making the most of the unusual bedfellow.

Peter Chelsom wants you to find happiness, and he hopes it’ll be in a cinema watching his film. Hector and the Search for Happiness has been adapted from the novel by François Lelord, Simon Pegg is our titular hero and Rosamund Pike and Amanda Abbington join for the fun.
Pegg and Pike have only just recently witnessed the end of the world (in The World’s End) and now they are on a quest to find the key to happiness. Will they find it? Maybe in each other? Frankly the world could use a little happiness right now.
Tonight was the UK premiere of the film and Amon Warmann and Colin Hart were on the carpet asking the questions. Here’s how they got on.

One of the biggest stars on the planet, and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, Daniel Radcliffe took to Leicester Square this evening for the UK premiere of his latest film, What If.
Radcliffe is joined in this rom-com by the very talented Zoe Kazan (shout out here for the underseen Ruby Sparks – see it, it’ll knock your socks off) as two best friends wonder if their relationship is more than just friendly. Obviously this isn’t the most original of premises but the state of play as far as modern rom-coms goes is to be taken along with snappy dialogue, sharp wits rather than intricate plot twists.
Emma Thrower and Colin Hart were on the carpet this evening to interview young Radders. Here’s how they got on.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel have set their sights and ambitions skyward, and from the early reviews they’ve succeeded admirably.
James Gunn takes us out of Earth’s atmosphere with Chris Pratt leading our titular anti-heroes alongside Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel (the latter two on voice duties). Tonight the UK Premiere took place in London and we were on the carpet asking the questions.
What began as a risky enterprise for Marvel has become a potential springboard for many other properties and keeps the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe in check. It’s one thing to elevate Iron Man and Thor into the public consciousness – these merry band of criminals, animals and forestry is quite another.
This evening Ben Mortimer and Colin Hart were on hand in Leicester Square to interview the cast and crew (and other Marvelites such as Joss Whedon), let’s see how they got on.

Those who saw Gareth Edwards’ impressive debut knew instantly that the man knew his Monsters. Keeping the enigmatic beasts at bay was the first sign that this was a director who knew how to spellbind with relatively meagre resources.
Fast forward to today and the premiere of Warner Bros’ latest incarnation of Godzilla, one of the iconic movie monsters, with a star-studded cast and a budget which dwarfs what Edwards had before. It seems, if the early reviews are anything to go by, that the director has an enormous success on his hands.
The marketing was surprisingly subtle, and now audiences have a chance to see what the twenty-first century Godzilla can do.

Gemma Arterton and Stephen Mangan hosted the 2014 Olivier Awards yesterday evening, and it was a fine night for London’s theatre community.
The worlds of film and theatre are extremely close with many of the guests and nominees returning to the Royal Opera House a couple of months after the BAFTA awards took place here. Likewise success in one medium often translates to the other with a staggering fifteen years of Mamma Mia! being celebrated at the awards, and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (from Oscar winner Sam Mendes no less) takes its place high on the agenda
It’s The Book of Mormon which is likely to continue its awards success, it made a huge splash last year and has been a hot ticket ever since. We were at the awards last night to interview the nominees and guests, Stefan Pape and Colin Hart were on the carpet grabbing whom they could.

The latest film from Nick Cassavetes had its UK Premiere in London this evening and stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton were on hand to talk up the movie.
Cassavetes has a nicely eclectic filmography, with noted crime drama Alpha Dog sitting nicely alongside My Sister’s Keeper (also starring Diaz), the tough Denzel Washington film John Q and the perennial romantic’s favourite The Notebook. The Other Woman looks to be far lighter fare telling a tale of a married man with affair on top of affair and the three woman who are with him.
