- Ben Dessen is a wildlife advocate, pet expert, author and presenter. Ben can't remember a time when he wasn't fascinated by animals and the natural world. Animals give Ben's life purpose and provide him with an ongoing source of curiosity and inspiration.
Ben has forged a career helping animals both within Australia and around the world. He is fully committed to sharing his driving passion with anyone who is willing to listen. Ben has extensive, hands-on experience working with a wide variety of wildlife species ranging from crocodiles and orangutans to venomous snakes and kangaroos.
Raising awareness and advocating for conservation drives everything Ben does. He has developed a wide portfolio of media work including numerous television appearances (Play School, Reef School, Better Homes and Gardens, Bondi Vet, Sunrise, The Morning Show and Studio 10 to name a few) and a feature role in the movie Rise of the Eco Warriors. Ben's documentary film work has taken him to Borneo many times where he has worked alongside the local people to fight deforestation and help set up an orangutan rehabilitation centre. Ben is a published author (The Ultimate Pet Handbook) and is a regular featured animal expert on national radio shows across KIIS FM and ABC Radio.
