It’s the Kent family reunion we never thought we’d see: Bitsie Tulloch on Friday shared a snapshot of herself on the SAG-AFTRA picket alongside Superman & Lois co-star Wolé Parks. And who’s that next to them? Why, it’s none other than Jordan Elsass, who played Tulloch’s on-screen son Jonathan for the CW drama’s first two seasons.

When we first reported that Superman & Lois was renewed for a fourth season at The CW, there was a major caveat:
The VFX-heavy drama's budget had to come down to make renewal more feasible for the network.
There were reports that reducing the budget would mean trimming the cast.
Now, we know who's the first to go.
Leslie Bourque-Walsh, the wife of Dylan Walsh, confirmed he will not be a part of Superman & Lois Season 4.
"Congrats to the families of S&l for finally getting the update of their fate," Leslie wrote on Instagram.
"We now know General Lane was cut due to budget. It was a fun ride. Bye."
Walsh's Sam Lane has been a pivotal part of the series since Superman & Lois Season 1.

The long wait for Superman & Lois Season 3 is almost over.
The CW dropped an extended trailer for the forthcoming season, premiering March 14, and there's a lot to talk about.
We'll start with Jonathan Kent.
The trailer offers our first look at Michael Bishop, who takes over the role from Jordan Elsass.
Elsass announced his departure from the superhero drama before filming Superman & Lois Season 3.
Our first glimpse at the new Jonathan coincides with our first look at the new Fortress of Solitude, which in turn, reveals that the entire Kent family can attend.
The trailer hints at the family wanting to be like a regular family, and that includes celebrating birthdays without superhero drama.
However, Lois drops a bombshell on Clark that is sure to shake up this family dynamic like never before:

Mother! The CW’s Superman & Lois just dropped the trailer for its third season exclusively on our laps and it’s looking like Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) are in for some mommy issues, as well as more of the epic adventures that make this show so damn good. Early on, we get a glimpse of Ck’s Kryptonian mom Lara (Mariana Klaveno) in all her holographic glory as sonny boy brings the wife and kids — including Michael Bishop, who replaces Jordan Elsass as Jonathan — to the newly sprouted Fortress of Solitude. And then, after sepia-soaked shots of the twins’ birthday celebration, Lois tells Clark that she may be pregnant with their third. Whether that’s happy news or not for the Dad of Steel remains to be seen because the clip immediately shifts into high gear, with explosions, aerial business, Lois’ abduction, and a return...

Following the news that series original Jordan Elsass would be stepping away from his role as Jonathan Kent on Superman & Lois, the future of the CW hit’s third season seemed to be, well, up in the air. Would they recast? Write off the character? Move to HBO Max and be abruptly canceled? After all, Elsass had been key to the show’s central relationship between Jon and Jordan (Alex Garfin), the twin sons of Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), so finding someone who could replicate the chemistry he shared with on-screen sibling Garfin would be an heroic feat in itself. Dean Buscher/The CW Thankfully, it was soon revealed that the role would indeed be filled by a new actor and we have confirmation that said actor has been found! Warner Bros. “Superman & Lois,” whose second season arrives on HBO Max today, isn’t your typical Superman story. For one thing, it gives the Man of Steel and his Pulitzer-winning wife a pair of teenage sons. For another, it has a distinctly modern — see also: post-recession — approach to Superman’s hometown, which it achieves through its expert interplay between production design and photography. If you aren’t watching the show, you might be missing out on a timely depiction of Superman’s home, one that demands to be seen not only on its own terms, but as a thoughtful update to the version that exists within the cinematic memory.
