We haven’t heard from the American Gods universe in awhile. In fact, it’s been over a year and a half since season 2 concluded and the show went through another round of … say it with us: behind the scenes drama.
Well the fine folks at Starz have apparently decided that we’ve waited long enough. During the show’s appearance at New York Comic Con, producers unveiled the first real footage of season 3 as part of an exciting new teaser. You can watch the 90-second clip below.
There’s always a lot to unpack in just about every new bit of American Gods footage, but this time around there’s really a lot to unpack. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is feeling himself and it shows. In addition to a new hairstyle, a new location, and new attitude, Shadow is ready to accept season 3’s tagline: “I Am A God.

American Gods is defending its decision to part ways with cast member Orlando Jones.
Earlier on Saturday, Jones posted an expletive-laced video to Twitter, in which he alleged that he was fired from the series because new showrunner Charles “Chic” Eglee thought his character Mr. Nancy sent “the wrong message” to “black America.” In response, a spokesperson for the Fremantle-produced Starz drama tells TVLine that Jones’ option for Season 3 was not picked up because the upcoming run of episodes will focus on a portion of the book that does not include Mr. Nancy, among several other characters that appeared...

Iwan Rheon is becoming one lucky bastard. The actor, who famously portrayed Game of Thrones villain Ramsay Bolton, has been cast as a new leprechaun for the upcoming third season of Starz’s American Gods. Rheon’s character, Liam Doyle, is described as “charming” and “good-natured,” according to the official announcement.
Though little is known about Liam at this time, it’s worth noting that he’s now American Gods‘ sole leprechaun, following the departure of Pablo Schreiber’s Mad Sweeney in Season 2.

American Gods season 3 will happen on Starz, with Chic Eglee as showrunner.
American Gods Season 3 is a go! Starz announced only one episode into American Gods Season 2, that the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's beloved novel, will be getting a third season. This is good news for anyone who is into mesmerizing visuals and fantastical commentary on today's sociopolitical status quo. Also, for anyone who wants to see this full story brought to the screen. While the second season itself was hit and miss, it's good to know we'll get more of the story on screen before it all wraps up.
Who will be showrunning American Gods Season 3? Usually, when a TV show gets a third season renewal, it's pretty obvious who will be helming the ship. But, given that American Gods allegedly fired its Season 1 showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green and then reportedly later asked Jesse Alexander,...
