Sza proved that brevity really is the soul of wit at the Webby Awards on May 15. While accepting the artist of the year award at the annual ceremony in New York City, the singer kept things short and sweet with a five-word speech that had the audience in stitches. "The internet scares me," she said while holding her new trophy with a huge smile on her face. After a few glances out into the crowd, she added a quick "thanks" and split. The honesty! The relatability! It's only a matter of time before clips of her to-the-point revelation start circulating Twitter as a reaction meme.
Celebrity choreographer Parris Goebel, who's collaborated with Sza through the years, presented her with the award and shared far lengthier comments about the songwriter's talent. "Sza is an undeniable force in music, and her power on the internet has moved the world,...

Rihanna made her grand return to the spotlight in February 2023 with a high-flying Super Bowl halftime show. The “Pour It Up” singer worked with a longtime collaborator, choreographer Parris Goebel, to bring the show to life. Goebel herself is no stranger to the Super Bowl; the New Zealand-bred dancer and choreographer worked with 2020 halftime show performer Jennifer Lopez to formulate J. Lo’s moves for the performance.

Rihanna’s marshmallow dancers at the Super Bowl halftime show found out about her pregnancy in the same way that everyone else did – and some didn’t catch on until they watched the performance back on YouTube.
The singer hired 280 dancers for her career-spanning performance, most of which were not people she had worked with in the past in any professional capacity. For some, like Luhnyae Campbell, it was their first paid dancing gig. During the set, one dancer on the highrises could be seen slipping in some TikTok choreography instead of what was rehearsed.

After more than five years away from the stage, Rihanna finally returned to the spotlight on Sunday, February 12, to headline Super Bowl Lvii’s halftime show. The nine-time Grammy winner graced the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Az, with a 15-minute performance featuring some of her biggest hits like “Where Have You Been,” “Only Girl In the World,” and “We Found Love.” And while many were stricken by her set, which saw the pop star literally soaring above the field on a floating platform, they also were distracted by what appeared to be a pregnancy reveal, which was later confirmed by the songstress’ rep. With a moving stage and the performer expecting her second child, it wasn’t Rihanna’s most demanding choreography — done by frequent Rihanna collaborator Parris Goebel — so the reaction to the show has been split. But she sure had people talking, something she’s known to do!

On Tuesday night in New York, Amazon had its Beyonce moment: Like “Homecoming” brought home a slew of Emmy nominations for Netflix, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty show seems likely to generate awards buzz for the streaming service — and the superstar.
Rihanna got a standing ovation from the exclusive crowd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, who came to see the star present her fall/winter 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week show, but ended up witnessing a full-blown television production that will stream on Amazon Prime on Sept. 20.
The show was unlike anything previously staged during Fashion Week — and possibly anywhere. Rather than a catwalk show, the event was more of an audio-visual experience, combining music, art, fashion and dance, creating a multi-sensory experience for the audience. Leave it to Rihanna to bring together lingerie, Emmy-worthy choreography, music, celebrities — Migos, DJ Khaled, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Fat Joe, Fabolous,...

Ciara is taking back her narrative. The video, directed and choreographed by Parris Goebel, a.k.a. Parri$, features the ReQuest Dance Crew. The song's title cleverly references Ciara's controversial #LevelUp social media posts. In January, she reposted a video clip from John Gray's "He Who Finds a...

I'll be honest, I didn't quite expect the extent of the excitement in response to our exclusive clip from "Born To Dance," the New Zealand dance movie that's making its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It seems there is some buzz brewing around the film, and here's another opportunity to check it out with the new trailer that just landed. Much of the chatter with the picture has to do with world-renowned choreographer Parris Goebel, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, and Cirque Du Soleil, among others, and put together all the hot moves on display in this film directed by Tammy Davis. The filmmaker enlists Tia-Taharoa Maipi, Stan Walker, and Kherington Payne to tell the story of Maori teen at a crossroads in his life. Leading sales agent Cinema Management Group (Cmg) has announced that "Born To Dance," a fresh take on the hip hop dance genre, began shooting on Monday in Auckland, New Zealand.
The feature is choreographed by eight-time World Hip Hop Championships winner Parris Goebel, a faculty member of Monsters of Hip Hop, and recent star in her own right of "Step Up All In."
U.S. bombshell Kherington Payne plays Sasha, the female lead in the multi-million dollar feature. Kherington was propelled to fame with her top ten placing in the hit Us reality show So You Think You Can Dance, which led to a principal role as Alice in the 2009 remake of feature film "Fame." She was also the lead in E! Networks docu-drama The Dance Scene, and was a principal dancer for Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream tour.
"Born To Dance" is a coming of age tale told through the eyes of ‘Tu’, an ambitious young man from Auckland who dreams of being a professional hip hop dancer. When he is invited to audition for the best crew in the country, and meets their leading lady Sasha, his dreams begin to turn to reality.
Australasian superstar Stan Walker will play the role of Benjy, Tu’s best friend. Walker shot to fame when he won the first season of Australian Idol and has since cemented his stardom with multiple platinum albums, appearing as a judge on The X Factor New Zealand, and a leading role in the 2013 feature film "Mt Zion."
Tammy Davis will direct, following from his award-winning shorts "Ebony Society" and "Sonny, My Older Brother." New discovery Tia Maipi, a member of world championship hip hop crew The Royal Family, will take on his first major acting role playing Tu.
