Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, which this week opens with a Before the Impact match that saw Alisha defeat Renee Michelle. Apparently, according to reports, this week’s Impact is the last for W. Morrisey, which is a shame… Hopefully he’s headed on to bigger and better things! Let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Mia Yim def. Savannah Evans The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
Mia Yim competes in her first singles match since returning to Impact Wrestling as she battles the powerful Savannah Evans. Deonna Purrazzo, who will join Yim in the first-ever Queen of the Mountain match at Slammiversary, joins Tom Hannifan on commentary. Evans spikes her with a big Ddt. Evans continues the assault with a pop-up powerbomb but it’s not enough to put Yim away. Yim uses her quickness to avoid Evans, sending her crashing into the steel ring post.

Mia Yim returned to Impact Wrestling with a fresh outlook on her in-ring career. This comes after an often frustrating run at WWE came to an end earlier this year. The former Knockouts champion is now out to remind fans what she is capable of when the opportunity arises. One such event will be Slammiversary as she joins Deonna Purrazzo, Chelsea Green, Jordynne Grace, and champ Tasha Steelz in the first-ever “Queen of the Mountain” match. The field represents a truly diverse locker room. Here Yim, who is half African-American and half Korean, reflects on making history, the importance of representation in the business, and why she decided to sign back on with Impact. We’re currently in Asian Pacific American Heritage Month; how far do you think women’s wrestling has come in terms of diversity? Mia Yim: When I first started I was the only Asian in the locker room.

As if one pay per view on a Saturday wasn’t enough, here comes Impact Wrestling with No Surrender 2022 – which has a Stacked card featuring wrestlers from Impact, New Japan and Ring of Honor… it’s almost a “supershow” of sorts! This months PPV opened with not one but Two Countdown to… matches, the first of which saw a returning Trey Miguel defeat John Skyler; followed by Havok defeating Tenille Dashwood. As I’ve said previously Impact know how to put a pay per view together, hopefully this show continues that trend.
Match #1: X-Division Championship #1 Contenders Match – Jake Something def. Ace Austin, Chris Bey & Mike Bailey The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
The winner of this match will earn a future X-Division Title opportunity against Trey Miguel! Jake suplexes Bailey over the top rope to the floor. Jake soars through the air, crashing into everyone on the outside.
