Sonic the Hedgehog 2 wrapped up with a major Shadow tease and, last month, we learned that Keanu Reeves will lend his voice to the character (making countless fan casts a reality in the process).
Today, a first look at the villain-turned-anti-hero has been revealed (via SFFGazette.com) thanks to a promo banner for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The titular character is shown alongside Tails and Knuckles, with Shadow looming large in the background.
We'd hoped a trailer might be released alongside If when that opened in theaters last weekend; sadly, there was no sign of Sonic, so we're hoping the sneak peek races online sooner rather than later.
Shadow the Hedgehog debuted in 2001's Sonic Adventure 2. Created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, Shadow was designed as the Ultimate Life Form, with abilities surpassing those of Sonic. His creation aimed to unlock the secrets of immortality...

Mike Colter starred in Marvel Television's Luke Cage from 2015 to 2018 and, like the rest of those heroes, his time as the character reached an abrupt end amid a wave of cancellations. That was Netflix's way of responding to the launch of Disney+, but after a couple of years of waiting, Marvel Studios is free to do what it likes with Power Man and company.
The Defenders TV shows are supposedly considered "canon" to the wider MCU and, with Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal reprising their roles as Daredevil and The Punisher in 2025's Born Again, could Colter eventually join them as Power Man?
The actor was always something of a divisive choice, and replacing the 47-year-old with a younger lead more in line with the comic book version of the character perhaps makes the most sense. For what it's worth, Colter remains open to playing Cage again, even...

Before the Disney+ shows, Netflix was the home of the Defenders Saga, featuring several street-level superheroes. Among these was “Luke Cage,” which ran for two seasons and gained considerable popularity, thanks to Mike Colter’s portrayal of the titular character.
Despite its success, “Luke Cage” was canceled after two seasons. The cancellation was attributed to creative differences and Marvel Television’s strategic shift to move its properties away from Netflix.
With the release of ‘Echo,’ the Defenders Saga has been officially integrated into the mainline MCU. Anticipation is high that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will reference many of the former Netflix shows, and fans are eagerly hoping for some of these series to continue on Disney+. Krysten Ritter has expressed her enthusiasm for reprising her role as Jessica Jones, but what about Luke Cage? Mike Colter, the actor behind Luke Cage, has expressed a more reserved interest. Arnold Schwarzenegger will face a new foe in the second season of his Netflix series Fubar.
Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix series) has joined the action comedy as a former adversary — and former flame — of Schwarzenegger’s not-quite-retired CIA spy Luke Brunner. Production on Fubar‘s second season began in late April; a premiere date hasn’t been scheduled.
Moss will play Greta Nelso, a former East German operative who shares a passionate history with Luke. He’s tasked with stopping her threat to destroy the world — if she doesn’t destroy his life first.
Fubar is Schwarzenegger’s first starring role in a TV series. The show premiered in May 2023 and was renewed for season two a few weeks later. The first season revolved around Luke, on the verge of retirement, being pulled into a mission to save a fellow CIA officer, who turns out to be his daughter (Monica Barbaro). Milan Carter,...

Welcome back, Clone Club! It's been a little while since our last meeting, but it's once again our time to shine. Every "Orphan Black" fan remembers falling down that sci-fi rabbit hole back throughout the mid-2010s, gawking at the television screen as the series somehow found deeper and more labyrinthine plots to follow with every passing season. As complicated and slightly off the rails as the story could get, those of us who found ourselves on its wavelength ended up among the most passionate members of the fandom. You could commonly find us wandering the street corners and flagging down random passersby, eager to preach about the Good News of Tatiana Maslany and her frankly incredible performance(s) as various clones who couldn't possibly be more different from one another.
Now, perhaps a whole new generation of fans is about to spring up with the release of the spin-off/sequel series,...

It’s widely known now that the debut of ‘Echo’ solidified Netflix’s Defenders Saga as part of canon. Primarily driven by the impending release of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ this revelation underscores a significant shift.
Instead of a complete reboot, the series is evolving as a direct extension of Netflix’s previous iteration. Given the interconnected nature of the ‘Daredevil’ series with other shows, the Defenders Saga’s canon status is imperative. Among the standout characters in this interconnected universe is Jessica Jones, portrayed by Krysten Ritter.
Lately, the actress expressed her eagerness to revisit her past role, and now she’s dropped a tantalizing hint for her fans via her private Instagram account.
For those unfamiliar with the context of this image, in the comics, Jessica Jones sported pink hair during her tenure as the superhero known as ‘Jewel.’

It’s pretty common knowledge by now that the release of ‘Echo’ made Netflix’s Defenders Saga canon. To be fair, the biggest part that motivated the announcement was probably the upcoming release of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Following extensive reworks of the show, it’s been decided that it’s not going to be a reboot of the show, but rather more akin to the continuation of Netflix’s show.
Since ‘Daredevil’ show was connected to pretty much all other shows, in a direct or indirect way, the Defenders Saga needs to be canon. One of the most notable shows (and characters) within the Defenders was Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter.
Recently, the actress stated that she would love to return to her former role, and now she’s given her fans a pretty big tease on her private Instagram account.

Is Jessica Jones about to make her MCU return? While nothing is confirmed, a new Instagram post from Krysten Ritter has left fans convinced we'll see her reprise the role sooner rather than later.
As you can see below, Ritter is rocking some very cool purple hair. In the comics, when Jessica first became a superhero - then known as Jewel - she did so in spandex and with, you guessed it, pink/purple hair.
While the character later grew that out after becoming a P.I., some artists have portrayed her as still having those purple locks. Like Daredevil's expanded power set and colourful costumes, though, this would be a great way to softly reboot the character for Earth-616 after the grounded and gritty Jessica Jones.
Last April, Ritter responded positively when asked if she was open to returning as Jessica. "I have no idea; I hope so!

Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster Twilight franchise is heading to the small screen, and here are the details.
There was a time in the early 2010s when Twilight was just about the biggest film franchise around.
It comprises five films – 2008’s Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, 2009’s New Moon, directed by Chris Weitz, 2010’s Eclipse, directed by David Slade, and the two part finale Breaking Dawn, directed by Bill Condon and released in 2011 and 2012. Their success was such that two parody films were also released in quick succession, the much maligned Vampire’s Suck and Breaking Wind.
The films followed Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan as she becomes romantically involved with vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and werewolf Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner. Which all leads to a battle with vampire coven The Volturi.
Adapted by future Jessica Jones creator Melissa Rosenberg, the large ensemble cast also included Billy Burke,...

Actor Charlie Cox is popularly known for portraying Matt Murdock a.k.a., Daredevil in the series Daredevil for Netflix. Inspired by 1970s movies, the series was intended to be darker than other Marvel projects, intentionally avoiding any MCU crossovers. It was the first Marvel Netflix series and was followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, which eventually led to the mini-series The Defenders.
Upon its release, the series received positive comments from the critics as well as the audience, with Charlie Cox’s character becoming one of the fan favorite MCU characters. In 2022, after Disney regained the license for the Marvel series, Daredevil Netflix was canceled to make way for a Disney+ show. Cox will reprise his role for Daredevil: Born Again scheduled for a 2025 release, but recent reports suggest that he could appear in Spider-Man 4 in a significant role.

Comic book author Brian Michael Bendis has set a first-look deal with Amazon is already developing three TV series under the new pact based on his previous works: “Jinx,” “Murder Inc.” and “Pearl.”
“Jinx” is a crime-ridden love story unfolding on a high stakes treasure hunt, per Amazon’s series description. Our players are: Jinx Alameda, a bounty hunter at the top of her game who’s tired of her grimy life; Goldfish, a charming con man and wanted felon who falls head over heels for Jinx; and Columbia, Goldfish’s loose-cannon partner, who has big criminal dreams. Their paths join when they’re pulled into a search for missing mob money — a payout so big that it lures them away from the familiar streets of Cleveland, into a dangerous, unpredictable misadventure that will change the course of their lives.
“Jinx” is executive produced by Bendis along with showrunners Ayelet Waldman and Michael Chabon.

Madame Web director S. J. Clarkson has been associated with Marvel for a long time. She previously directed episodes of Jessica Jones, The Defenders, and of course, Charlie Cox’s Netflix show Daredevil.

Neil Gaiman, the creator of Good Omens, once detailed on Tumblr that his entry through the pearly gates into Heaven may depend on one thing: the fact that he was the first to put David Tennant and Michael Sheen together.
You may wonder what could’ve prompted the renowned author to reach such a conclusion. Interestingly enough, the on-screen pair’s shared presentation at the BAFTA TV Awards 2020, when they announced the winner of the Best Mini-Series, was what caused it.
The bit, though brief, reflected the two stars’ shared chemistry. While their affiliation has left an indelible mark on the pop-culture tapestry, it is relatively new, dating back to 2019 with Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens Season 1.

Following that came their pandemic sitcom, Staged—the series that became the backbone of the award-show segment that induced Gaiman’s response.

With the release of Echo in January, fans of the MCU are all but convinced that their favorite street-level vigilantes are canon in teh MCU, thanks to Daredevil’s inclusion in the show. David Tennant’s Killgrave, therefore, is also canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he is allegedly not opposed to returning to the role.
The Purple Man/ Killgrave
Being physically a part of Season 1 while appearing as a figment of Jessica’s imagination after his demise, Tenant has revealed that there might be a way to bring his version of Killgrave back to the screen. Now, with the hows entrenched in the MCU, and the street-level vigilantes having found their “Thanos” in Wilson Fisk, Tennant’s Killgrave would make an excellent secondary villain, while also being a return to form for Jessica Jones.

The members of the audience who loved Jessica Jones during its successful run in the past might also remember the character of The Purple Man, a.k.a Kilgrave, played expertly by actor David Tennant. In fact, for many of the fans of the show, this antagonist may have been one of the most memorable parts of the series.

And despite the character being taken out of the equation in the series for good, the actor has time and time again expressed his desire to return to his role in the MCU. Yet again, the start has revealed how he would love to return as Kilgrave in the future, but this time, it seems highly likely that the star might make a return in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again under the Devil’s Reign storyline that will truly honor his character.

The popularity and success of the Spider-Verse animated franchise have inspired Sony to introduce shared Spider-people-oriented world-building gimmicks in live-action movies as well, and Madame Web is the first step in that direction. As a part of Sony’s existing Spider-Man Universe (Ssu), which includes movies like Venom, Morbius, and the upcoming Kraven, Madame Web will introduce the titular spider-themed clairvoyant as well as a host of female spider-characters, as the movie aims to become the franchise’s first female superhero ensemble.
However, despite the fact that these characters are prominent members of the Spider-Society, appearing across comics, animated series, and games for a couple of decades, they are relatively obscure to the general audience due to not having a presence in live-action movies yet. This can make enjoying a superhero team-up movie a bit of a challenging affair, and to get rudimentary knowledge about the characters in question,...

Directed by S.J. Clarkson (whose Marvel credentials include the Jessica Jones series), Madame Web is the fourth film in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, following Morbius and the two Venom movies. Essentially revamping a classic character from Amazing Spider-Man comics (where Madame Web has always been portrayed as an old woman), the film serves as a standalone adventure with significant connections to a certain wall-crawling web-spinner.
After a jungle-set prologue detailing the mysterious, spider-heavy circumstances of her birth in 1973, the film jumps forward 30 years to 2003 and centres on Cassie Web (Dakota Johnson), a single paramedic, whose platonic best friend is one Ben Parker (Adam Scott), who’s about to become -yes!- an uncle. Madame Web filmmaker Sj Clarkson is both persistent and prolific. The British director has helmed at least 109 episodes of television from 2001 until now. She cut her teeth to the tune of 37 episodes on a British medical soap known as Doctors, but that experience eventually paved the way for the likes of Dexter, Orange Is the New Black and Succession. (Her first episode of Dexter ended with John Lithgow’s iconic line of, “Hello, Dexter Morgan.”)
In recent years, Clarkson’s efforts to mount projects on a massive scale have tested her patience, as her Naomi Watts-led Game of Thrones prequel pilot, Bloodmoon, didn’t go, nor did her version of Star Trek 4 in 2018. Nevertheless, Clarkson’s feature directorial debut, Madame Web, is now arriving in theaters on Feb. 14, and she never imagined that her first film would take place in a universe that’s related to Spider-Man.

Is Marvel Studios willing to put its dukes up again with Iron Fist? According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the House of Ideas has a female-led Iron Fist series in the works for Disney+. Marvel Studios recently announced that the studio’s Netflix shows are canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, paving the way for heroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to mix it up with other characters in the MCU. While Iron Fist is brimming with potential, fans reacted poorly to Finn Jones’s portrayal of the classic Marvel character. The second season of Marvel’s Iron Fist concluded with Colleen Wing (Jessica Chenwick) picking up the torch as the new Iron Fist. Is Marvel plotting Colleen’s return to the MCU, or is this rumor only wishful thinking?
According to Richtman, there’s a chance Marvel could animate the rumored Iron Fist project. The...

He’ll play Judge Oliver Garland, a notable name in national politics and the judicial system as well as the leader of his family. “He is stern, intelligent, calculating, and proud. Disney+’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again may be getting even more familiar faces, as it has been reported that both Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will reprise their respective characters from the original Daredevil series, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.
Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll were key supporters throughout Daredevil’s three seasons when it aired on Netflix. That they’re expected to return – alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil – is most certainly reason for fans to be even more excited for Born Again. While it wasn’t anticipated that Henson and Woll would reprise their roles, they have stayed loyal to the characters: both turned up alongside Cox in The Defenders, while Henson would pop up as Foggy on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and Woll had a short run on The Punisher TV series.

If there’s one thing apes are afraid of besides drowning, it’s George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa. To avoid conflict at the box office during Memorial Day weekend, 20th Century Studios‘ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is moving to May 10 to avoid Furiosa’s wrath. The new date pushes Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes up by two weeks, giving the Wes Ball-directed action film time to earn more bananas at the box office before Furiosa inevitably leaves other releases in the dust.
The new date finds Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes competing with Focus Features’ Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black, Sony’s horror comedy Horrorscope, and an untitled release from Angel Pictures. ‘Tis the season for holiday films. This year, Susie Abromeit is stepping into the spirit playing an interior designer tasked with a career-changing assignment — a Christmas charity ball — that requires working with a difficult, but handsome, stranger.
Designing Christmas With You is the latest project from Abromeit’s four-picture deal with Great American Family, which was announced in the fall of 2021. She produces and stars alongside Liam McIntyre.
The actress, who had a breakout role in Jessica Jones, has done a string of rom-coms for the network following appearances in King Richard and The Forever Purge. What’s different about a holiday film? Mostly, the snow.
“It was really well-made soap that looked like snow,” Abromeit notes. “The Christmas aspect is always dialed up. It’s all about the hot cocoa, the trees and the decorations, good feelings, the nostalgia.”

Disney’s Bob Iger recently emphasized the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity in a statement. The decline in the quality of recent MCU projects and Disney films is attributed to the rapid release of content, not superhero fatigue. In 2023, Disney might end the year without a billion-dollar movie for the first time since 2014 (excluding pandemic years).
Marvel Studios faced a setback with ‘The Marvels,’ the most recent MCU release, marking the first MCU film to fall below the $100 million mark domestically. Despite being one of the Studio’s most expensive superhero movies, it underperformed. The decline in quality extends to Disney+ shows, with the exception of ‘Loki’ Season 2, hailed as a masterpiece.
With over 20 projects on the release schedule, some in post-production and others affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike, the MCU is reassessing its strategy. Rumors suggest that in 2024, the Studio might release only ‘Deadpool 3,’ considering its significance...

Recently, Bob Iger of Disney came out with a statement that Disney should focus on quality over quantity and that the fact that recent projects, both when it comes to the MCU franchise and Disney shows and movies in general, can be attributed to the fact that they are pushing to much content out.
It’s not even a matter of superhero fatigue, as most of their projects seem to be underdelivering in recent times, and 2023 might be the first year since 2014 (pandemic years excluded) that Disney will be closing the year without a billion-dollar movie.

Sony continues to capitalize on its banner franchise as the studio has now introduced the brand new expanded characters in their Spider-man cinematic universe. The company continues its partnership with Marvel to bring us the new trailer for Madame Web. Right off the bat, we see Spider-man-like imagery as the film’s star, Dakota Johnson, encounters a mysterious masked menace that resembles everyone’s favorite web-head. The trailer sports somewhat of a departure from the usual origin story beats as it resembles more of a thriller, which the producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, once described.
The synopsis reads,
“In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Remember when Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage delivered Marvel stories with a gritty edge on Netflix?
Those were the days.
Disney+'s efforts have been watered down to appeal to a broader audience, but it seems the streaming service has got the message loud and clear with Echo.
The streaming service on Friday shared the official trailer and premiere date for its next live-action series, and it's TV-ma-rated for good measure.
The clip is violent, delivering fight scene after fight scene as we delve into the world of Maya Lopez, whose world is changed forever when she crosses paths with Vincent D'onofrio's Wilson Fisk.
As you'll recall, if you watched Hawkeye, Maya confronted Fisk in the limited series finale and took his eye out.
In the trailer, he tells Maya they're connected, whether she likes it or not.
"You and I… are the same," he tells her as things get going.

The BBC has picked up Irish crime drama Kin from Fifth Season.
