Greg Cairns is a US based commercial director and documentary filmmaker. He is a senior Idaho river guide and sweep boat driver on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. Adventure Journal has described his work as "subtle, delightful and sneakily powerful." His commercial clients include Patagonia, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Sitka, OnXMaps, Backcountry.com, Montana State University, and Eddie Bauer.
Greg's first conservation documentary was 'The Durfees'. The film was supported by Backcountry Hunters and Anglers as an impact film for public land access and elk ecology in Montana. His most recent film titled 'Driving Sweep' tells the story of a young women who learns to drive a sweep boat on the Salmon River in Idaho. In 2024 the film was on the Banff World Film Tour, the Wild and Scenic Film Tour, and the Vancouver International Film Festival World Tour. He lives in Southwest Colorado.
