During the upcoming August 8 episode of “America’s Got Talent,” judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara will meet an animal act named Heather and Bogart. Heather is a 30-year-old woman from Pennsylvania who adopted the pit bull mix from a kill shelter. After discovering cancer in his hind leg, Heather made the difficult decision to amputate the leg, but that doesn’t stop Bogart from performing his eye-popping tricks. Watch the sneak peek video above for “AGT” Auditions 9.
“We would just love to show America that dogs can go through anything, and still go out and do what they love,” Heather tells the judges. When Howie asks if Bogart partakes in agility competitions, she nods and responds, “He competes against four-legged dogs and he’s out there with the best of them.”

Exemplifying the universal power of pop music on screen is a key scene in the FX limited series “Fleishman Is in Trouble.” As Jesse Eisenberg’s protagonist Toby Fleishman, a divorced father mired in loneliness and existential angst, walks down a New York City sidewalk with his two tweenage children, Hannah and Solly, an acoustic, Hebrew-language cover of Rachel Platten’s 2014 radio hit “Fight Song” soars in volume.
It’s a tender sequence, and a wistful one, marking a pivotal flash of radical acceptance for Toby, a Jewish hepatologist whose ex-wife (Claire Danes) has gone missing, leaving in her wake a fractured family struggling to remain afloat amidst the detritus of modern-day divorce. The rendition, by Israeli musician Yuval Ben-Ami, is stringy and raw — no polished mixing here — and acts as an anthem and a protest dirge, signaling Toby’s resolve to venture forth despite the dizzying loss.

There’s one thing we’re still sure of: Robin Thicke’s odious “Blurred Lines” is high on the list of the worst songs ever made. And for that matter, Leah Kate’s nursery-rhyme-biting, Olivia Rodrigo-aping TikTok irritant “Twinkle Twinkle Little Bitch” is definitely this year’s contribution.
But in 2022, where all canons have been exploded and all taste strictures overturned, it’s hard for anyone to be as confident as, say, the defunct magazine Blender was when they created a much-discussed worst-songs list in 2004, topped by Starship’s “We Built This City.

It’s the end of a (very short) era. The Daytime Emmys announced on October 31 the elimination of an unusually consequential category: Best Musical Performance in a Daytime Program. That Halloween proclamation was scary news for musical theater actors who in recent years have been able to complete most of their Egot checklists thanks to that category.
Best Musical Performance was only presented four times. The first time it seemed like a way to help Adele to get to Egot. The Grammy and Oscar winner was nominated in 2016 for performing “Million Years Ago” on “Today,” but she surprisingly lost to Rachel Platten for singing her signature hit “Fight Song” on “Good Morning America.”

All three winners that followed, however, were the casts of Broadway shows who managed to secure Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Awards within the span of a few months for their work.

There’s definitely a new quick path to Egot — or at least three-quarters of it. First Cynthia Erivo won a Tony, Grammy and Emmy for “The Color Purple.” Then Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones achieved the same triple play for “Dear Evan Hansen.” And on Friday night, May 3, Katrina Lenk and Ari’el Stachel accomplished the same rare feat for their performances in “The Band’s Visit.” It’s thanks to a relatively new category at the Daytime Emmys: Best Musical Performance in a Daytime Program. Check out the complete list of Daytime Emmy Creative Arts winners here.
The Tonys honor the best musicals on Broadway. The Grammys have long done the same with their Best Musical Theater Album category. And since 2016 the Daytime Emmys have honored musical performances on daytime programs, which means singers and theater performers are now able to win for promoting their work on a talk show or morning show.

Viral violinist Lindsey Stirling came this close to winning the Mirror Ball Trophy on “Dancing with the Stars.” She and her pro partner Mark Ballas made the finals in season 25 but placed second to Jordan Fisher and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold. No worries. Stirling has a shot at winning another trophy in May. She’s nominated for a Daytime Emmy.
Stirling contends for Best Musical Performance in a Daytime Program for performing “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” (watch it above). She was promoting her Christmas album “Warmer in the Winter,” in which she brought her singular blend of classical and electronic dance music to holiday classics. And her performance on “Kelly and Ryan” brought together her instrumental skills and her dance skills — have you ever tried playing the violin while spinning on one foot?

Having acted longer than some of his “Wonder Park” cast members have been alive, Ken Jeong, who jokingly described himself as “the dumbest judge on ‘The Masked Singer’ and the dumbest guy on ‘Community,'” passed down some valuable wisdom about the entertainment industry to his young co-stars.
“It sounds cliché, but the older I get, I still maintain a spirit of fun on set and at work. It’s just like any job, when you get there that day — just have fun. It actually matters,” he told Variety at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Sunday.
“Wonder Park” follows a young girl named June (voiced by Brianna Denski) who spent her childhood dreaming up a fantastical amusement park with zany rides and talking animals. After experiencing hardships and losing her creative spark growing up, she discovers the park actually exists just as she needs it most. Twelve-year-old...

On the January 30 episode of “The Masked Singer,” the Unicorn made her third appearance. After she sang on the premiere back on Jan. 2, we were fairly sure who she really was. Then her return in week 3 had us wondering. Since then, we’ve been studying the clues she dropped in the pre-recorded videos, her performances on stage and her cagey responses to the judges questions. Piecing the puzzle together, we are certain in our reasoning as to who is hidden beneath this elaborate costume and mask. Spoilers Ahead.
Forget following judge Nicole Scherzinger down the path that led her to think that the Unicorn was Denise Richards. On Jan. 16, the Unicorn had admitted she lacked confidence “because I lost my sheen.” Nicole jumped to the conclusion that this was a reference to Denise’s tempestuous marriage to Charlie Sheen. We think that the Unicorn is Tori Spelling.

The intense competition continues in this week’s America’s Got Talent: Champions. Ten more acts from around the globe fight for a chance to be in the finals. Who will make it and more importantly, who will get the coveted Golden Buzzer? Best Acts: Angelica Hale This young singer is adorable. Her singing is very good. Though I think some of her high notes sounded a little off, she still manages to belt out Rachel Platten’s Fight Song. I also like that she put her own twist on it, incorporating some quick note changes within the song. The judges, aside from

Former “Agt” runner-up Angelica Hale just belted out her “prove I’m alright song,” scoring “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” judge Howie Mandel’s golden buzzer in the process. She’s now the first franchise contestant ever to receive two golden buzzers.
Covering Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” this time, young Angelica showed the NBC audience that this “small boat” still has “a lot of fight left” in her. Weirdly, Spice Girl Mel B. wasn’t totally impressed, but her fellow panelist more than made up for that lack of enthusiasm on Monday.
With one press of the big button, Hale is now headed straight to the live shows: Yes, the golden buzzer is like winning a million bucks on Mandel’s other show, CNBC’s “Deal or No Deal.”

Now, she's back in front of the judges for America's Got Talent: The Champions and is already a finalist. Hale, who previously received a Golden Buzzer from Chris Hardwick during season 12, received her second Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel after a performance of Rachel Platten's "Fight Song." 1 | Couldn’t Netflix have done everyone a solid and trimmed The Staircase to half its bloated 13-hour length?

The Monday April 23 episode of the ABC revival of “American Idol” saw the Top 14 reduced to the Top 10. It took five weeks of episodes on the “American Idol” revival on ABC but we finally have the top 14 who will sing for your votes beginning on April 22. Four of the finalists – Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Jurnee and Ada Vox — are the only ones to register double digits in our poll. Each was a clear favorite for at least one of the three judges: Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
None of the other 10 other artists in the Top 14 — Jonny Brenns, Marcio Donaldson, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Garrett Jacobs, Mara Justine, Dennis Lorenzo, Maddie Poppe, Michelle Sussett, Catie Turner and Michael J.
