Speaking with Chelsea Devantez on her Glamorous Trash podcast, Burke – who played Suzanne Sugarbaker on sitcom Designing Women – talked about her falling out with series creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and subsequent drug abuse.
“It got ugly and very sad,” said Burke. She worked with Bloodworth-Thomason on the sitcom Filthy Rich before Designing Women, and claimed she viewed her as a mentor.
“We do Designing Women, and I’m so happy to be there,” she said. “I love everything. But then things started to change, which I won’t go into. But that, combined with becoming famous, I simply couldn’t cope with.”

Jon Stewart is leaving late-night, again.
The Problem with Jon Stewart has been canceled at Apple after two seasons.
The New York Times, which first reported the story, said the move came amid creative differences between the former host of The Daily Show and the tech giant. Topics such as China and AI reportedly were causing concern among Apple executives, the paper said.
Staff was told Thursday ahead of the start production on its third season.
The second season of The Problem with Jon Stewart premiered in October 2022 and its 12-episodes ran through April. It comes after the show secured an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Talk Series alongside Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

“The Problem With Jon Stewart” has been axed at Apple TV+ due to creative differences, according to media reports.
Despite being previously renewed for a third season, the streamer has abandoned the planned installment amid a clash of ideas between the former “Daily Show” host and Apple executives. Taping for the third installment was slated to begin in the coming weeks, per a report from The New York Times, but plans have since been scrapped.
According to the Times, Stewart and the tech giant’s leaders faced recent disagreements on the guests and content that would be covered in Season 3 of the talk show, with the host telling his staffers on Thursday that Apple was concerned about topics Stewart had brought forward, including China and artificial intelligence. Ahead of the 2024 election, one of the staffers told the Times more points of dispute were likely.

Quiet since November, The Problem with Jon Stewart is set to start up again on AppleTV+ on March 3.
After a rocky initial reception for the former The Daily Show host’s fortnightly return to the small screen last fall, the one-hour long, single-issue show will now roll out weekly moving forward. Adding to the mix, the Writers Guild Award-nominated current affairs series will now be even more closely partnered in themes and topics with Stewart and staff’s podcast of the same name.
Of course, it’s going to be a busy spring for Stewart.
In April, the multiple Emmy and Grammy winner and two-time Oscars frontman will be the recipient of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ 23rd Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

The opening titles to Jon Stewart’s Apple TV+ series start with a squiggly old tube TV set. Title after potential title appears on the warped screen, before being torn away like the discarded top sheet of a notepad. “The Weekly Show” becomes “The Monthly Show,” “The Annual Show,” and “The Money Grab Show.” When the 4:3 television expands into today’s typical widescreen format, “America” scrolls across in big, block letters like the title card in “Rocky” — before tacking on an apostrophe and turning into “America’s Next Top Stewart.” “A Fine Mess,” “Shit Show,” and even “I Want to Believe Jon Stewart” eventually give way to the actual name: “The Problem with Jon Stewart.”
It’s a nifty little sequence, featuring presumed shout-outs to the show’s lengthy development cycle (remember when Stewart’s next show was animated and headed for HBO?) as well as guesses as to...

The race between billionaires Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos to make civilian space travel a thing has repeatedly been likened to a “d— measuring contest” over the past few weeks. Now, a star-studded promo for Jon Stewart’s Apple TV+ show, “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” imagines a world where that is literally the case.
Stewart shared the promo video — which was briefly posted, deleted, then re-uploaded — on Twitter Tuesday, writing, “Sorry for the aborted launch!! I’m a bad twitterer. Enjoy this small step for man!”
The video dramatizes the “billionaire space race” as if it were a new sci-fi flick called “Cum Dog Billionaires,” with Branson, Bezos and Elon Musk duking it out for galactic dominance with rockets shaped like their own, um, executive assistants.
