Manuel Vicuña
Manuel Vicuña Urrutia is a Chilean historian and essayist born on April 25, 1970 in Santiago. He obtained his undergraduate degree in history from Universidad Finis Terrae in 1993 and his doctorate in history from the University of Cambridge (England). He has been a researcher at the National Historical Museum and the Diego Barros Arana Center of the National Library of Chile. He has been a professor at the Alberto Hurtado University, where he inaugurated and directed the School of History, and dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and History at Diego Portales since January 2006. Along with his academic work, he has been a columnist for various press media (such as La Tercera newspaper and Capital magazine) and has participated in audiovisual projects, where he stood out in the hosting, along with actor Francisco Melo, of the program Algo habrán hecho por la historia de Chile, broadcast by TVN in 2010.
