As Vishal turns a year older, he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and appreciation he has received.

Animal: Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Success Story Is Anything But Toxic! (Photo Credit –Instagram/IMDb)
After Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has again become the talking point for all the same reasons post Animal’s release. Headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, the film stars an ensemble cast of Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Saloni Batra among others. Despite making a monstrous collection of over 550 crore globally, he has also been at the receiving end for glorying misogyny, toxic masculinity, and violence, just like he did in Shahid Kapoor starrer and Arjun Reddy.
But did you know, that the filmmaker once revealed that he didn’t have much money to spend on Vijay Deverakonda starrer after others backed out of the project? A Reddit user recently took the platform to share Vanga’s old video where he’s seen opening up about selling 36 acres of Mango garden for 1.5 crore,...

Despite creating havoc at the box offices with its monstrous collections, Animal has also been at the receiving end. Just like Kabir Singh, Ranbir Kapoor starrer is also being called out for glorifying toxic masculinity and misogyny. While a section of social media users are bashing the film left, right, and center, Bollywood lyricist and poet Swanand Kirkire also made headlines for criticizing the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial. Taking to Twitter, he penned a series of tweets slamming the film and Rk’s character for its treatment of women.
In his Tweet, Kirkre voiced his concern and named a few films that he said have taught him how to respect women, their rights, and their autonomy. He further said that such films will take Indian cinema in a scary and dangerous direction.

Like it or hate it, Animal is here to stay! The Sandeep Reddy Vanga action-drama is certainly the most talked-about Indian film at the moment, thanks to its controversial subject matter. The audience reactions to the film have been polarizing, ranging from “harbinger of toxic misogyny” to “insanely glorious action-spectacle.” If Animal hasn’t worked for you, then the best course of action would be to stay away and move on, but if the film has turned out to be your jam and you’re done with all the discoursing and arguing on the internet, then you are probably looking for similar films to vibe with. No two films are quite the same, but I have made an attempt here to make a list of movies that might remind you of Vanga’s Animal, or at least some aspect of it. And no, this list doesn’t have Godfather and Kabir Singh,...

A little over halfway through Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal,” the main character and his allies attend church. He’s just killed 300 people, and they think he’d benefit from a spiritual cleanse, which he refuses.
After watching this film, I needed one too.
It’s not that “Animal” is particularly bad, misguided, or offensive — though it is periodically all of those things — but that it is an overall baffling cinematic experience. It is a movie with a jarring beginning and no discernible end. It is a movie where two people pilot a private plane and then have sex in the cabin while it flies itself. It is a movie touting physical violence but dealing mostly in emotional warfare. It is a movie that started with me taking two Tylenol, and ended with me taking two more.

Animal: Anurag Kashyap Reacts To The Controversy Around Ranbir Kapoor Starrer(Photo Credit –Instagram/Facebook)
After Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s new film Animal has created havoc not only in the theatres but also at the box office. After hitting the big screens on December 1, it collected Rs 201.76 crore on its first weekend. At the same time, it is also facing a massive clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. While the film is making a stupendous collection at the ticket windows, it is also being criticized for its problematic plot that glorifies misogyny and toxic masculinity. Now, the latest one to defend the film is Anurag Kashyap.
Kashyap has often been criticized owing to the films and series he has helmed in the past. In a recent interview, Anurag opined on ‘provocative cinema’ and roared that a director shouldn’t be told what or what not to show in a film.

Animal Box Office Collection Day 3 ( Photo Credit – T-Series / YouTube )
History has been created. After Jawan (206.06 crores), Animal has turned out to be the second-only Bollywood film ever to cross the 200 crores mark in just 3 days. No holiday release, adults-only certificate, and a running duration of around three and a half hours haven’t been obstacles either, as audiences have loved the film. That’s what resulted in Sunday turning out to be even bigger than Friday and Saturday, which was monumental.
The Ranbir Kapoor starrer collected an astonishing 70.69 crores on Sunday, and that’s a humungous number by all means. Really, it’s just not easy to get such kind of collections, and though Sam Bahadur isn’t a competition, even that film went past the 10 crores mark, which shows the kind of capacity that Bollywood can enjoy on a given day even on a non-holiday. “Adipurush,” one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2023, unites the talents of Prabhas (the Baahubali franchise) and Om Raut, who directed Ajay Devgn-starring “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,” the biggest Indian box office hit of 2020 with a 50 million gross.
“Adipurush” is Raut’s take on Indian mythological epic “Ramayana,” by Valmiki, where Rama, the king of Ayodhya, travels to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita, who has been abducted by the king Ravana. “Adipurush” is set 7,000 years ago and in the film, Prabhas’ character is not called Rama, he is Raghav, another name for Rama. Sita, played by Kriti Sanon, is called Janaki, while Saif Ali Khan’s Ravana is Lankesh, also derivatives of their “Ramayana” names. Adipurush literally means “first man,” but here the interpretation is that of “best man.”

Do you agree or disagree with our users’ “AGT” odds? Be sure to make your predictions before the September 8 episode airs live on NBC.
At the other end of the spectrum, our “America’s Got Talent” odds-makers predict these six acts will be headed home this week: singing group 1aChord, dance group ChapKidz, comedian Kabir Singh, mentalist Peter Antoniou, acrobatic trio Rialcris and unicyclists UniCircle Flow. Since there are no more wildcards, being cut in this round means an act is out of the competition for good.

Although he’s up against some stiff competition, Kabir brings his A-game every time he steps on stage. His ability to bring the funny under any circumstances is something that can’t be denied. One of the most original bands to ever hit the “America’s Got Talent” stage, Gangstagrass, was shockingly eliminated during the Quarterfinals 1 results show. The bluegrass/rap band strives to prove we all have “common ground” despite our differences, but America clearly didn’t feel a connection to their original song, “All For One” (watch below), during the August 10 performance show. Of the five acts to be cut from the live shows, 24% of fans thought Gangstagrass was most “robbed” of a spot in the “AGT” semifinals. Here are the complete poll results:

America’s Got Talent made its first round of Season 16 live cuts on Wednesday, sending a handful of hopeful acts packing.
These results came on the heels of Tuesday’s first live episode, which featured several memorable performances from people we thought were frontrunners. Highlights included singer Peter Rosalita stunning viewers with a powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” comedian Kabir Singh sharing embarrassing texts from his mom, and escape artist Matt Johnson narrowly cheating death (again) by barely avoiding a chainsaw to the face.

We finally reached the live-shows portion of “America’s Got Talent” Season 16 on Tuesday. And that meant that a lot of fan favorites from the audition episodes returned to give their performances in the quarterfinals, including 10-year-old Filipino contestant Peter Rosalita.
Somehow, Peter managed to wow the judges — and us — even more with his second shot on stage last night than his very memorable debut performance. During his second round, Peter sang a cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” for judges Sofia Vergara, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel, as all well as those in attendance at the live shows and viewers at home.
Rocking a shimmery suit, Rosalita’s pipes managed to blow us away once again, and brought the audience to their feet with applause when he had finished.

Sofia Vergara made Jimmie Herrod a household name when she pushed her Golden Buzzer for him during the audition phase of “America’s Got Talent.” Now that the live shows have begun, the powerhouse singer seems to have a new cheerleader in the form of Heidi Klum. “America’s Got Talent” entered the final phase of season 16 on Tuesday with the first live show of the summer. In this quarter-finals round, which will consist of three episodes, a dozen acts per night will perform for the judges. Judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara can still buzz an act but the real power is in the hands of the home audience, who will vote for their favorites.
On the August 10 quarterfinal of “AGT,” the line-up was led off by Sofia’s Golden Buzzer, singer Jimmie Herrod. Two other singers — Madilyn Bailey and Peter Rosalita — perform as do a pair of stand-up comedians, Gina Brillon and Kabir Singh. A film that begins halfway through and then takes the viewer back through disparate plot strands which eventually coalesce, Aiyai: Wrathful Soul is an ambitious début from Ilanthirayan Alan Arumugam which shows promise but never quite gels. It follows student Kiran (Kabir Singh), who has recently lost his job after a confrontation at work and is relieved to find a new one in a quiet out-of-town funeral parlour where, as they say, none of the customers ever comes back to complain. At least, none has to date. When he arrives and is shown around by friendly boss Albert (Richard Huggert), there are mutterings about a recent departure who might have trouble crossing over. It doesn't seem serious - just the kind of humour that gets people by in the business - but later events will make viewers reconsider the meaning behind those words.

Michael Winslow rose to fame in the 1980s thanks to his role as Larvell Jones, the quirky officer who made sound effects, in the “Police Academy” movies. He later appeared in films like “Gremlins” and “Spaceballs” before retiring from the biz to help raise his kids after his wife died. Now, the 62-year-old voicetramentalist is hoping to return to the entertainment industry and he’s using “America’s Got Talent” as the stepping stone for how to get there. Heidi Klum is notoriously the harshest critic when it comes to judging stand-up comedians on “America’s Got Talent.” However, she completely fell in love with 27-year-old Cam Bertrand and his jokes about the struggles of buying wine with a baby face. The Tampa, Florida resident has gone through life appearing as a teenager — “I look 17 at best,” he noted — which tends to cause him problems at the liquor store. All four panelists easily voted “yes” to send Cam through to the next round, which means we’ll see him again in the Judge Cuts round. Watch the “AGT” video above.
“I got Heidi? That’s a win in itself!” Cam shouted from the stage, as Heidi got up from her seat and danced around in a tight circle. Simon Cowell then asked Cam how much experience he has doing gigs, and the young man responded, “I get on stage almost every night of the week.

Has NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” found its next singing superstar? Storm Large — yes, that’s her real name — wowed the judges during Tuesday’s third episode of Season 16 by putting a sultry rock ‘n’ roll twist on Frank Sinatra‘s “I Got You Under My Skin.” The 51-year-old musician has been working in the industry for 30 years, but still has yet to become a household name. After previously competing on CBS’s “Rock Star: Supernova,” Storm now calls auditioning for “AGT” an “enormous, terrifying opportunity.” Watch the video above.
Before she began singing, Simon Cowell asked her if they’d ever met before. Storm quickly joked, “We were so young, Simon. Let’s not bring that up.” Hmm, perhaps the judge saw her on “Rock Star: Supernova,” where she came in fifth place, or during her 2006 appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”?

The third Golden Buzzer of America’s Got Talent Season 16 went to an act that Simon Cowell called “one of the most extraordinary things” he’s seen in all his years as a judge — yet he wasn’t the one who smashed the button.
This week’s lucky act was World Taekwondo, a co-ed group of martial artists who wowed the judges with a synchronized symphony of flips, high kicks and precision. The entire panel was on the edge of its collective seat for the entire audition, and no could say enough good things about the show-stopping display.

“America’s Got Talent” season 16 continues on June 15 with a special one-hour episode showcasing the best (and worst) auditions. In this phase of “AGT,” an act needs at least three of the four judges to give them a “yes” vote to advance to the next round. If two or more judges buzz the act, it is immediately eliminated. Each judge, along with host Terry Crews, has one chance to hit the “golden buzzer” and send an act straight through to the live performances.
Last week, Simon sent songbird Nightbirde straight through to the live shows after she performed an original song tonight called “It’s Okay,” lyrically about the last year of her life. In the song she offered support to herself and others struggling, as she does with cancer, that comes from within.

Mumbai, Feb 25: Bollywood experienced a lull last year with hardly any film getting a theatrical release owing to the complete closure of cinemas. With business opening up, many films are ready to release and raring to go. The inevitable, of course, is happening with a slew of films announcing release dates. In an overcrowded market, multiple Fridays this year will see box office clash between two films.
"These sort of clashes should not happen, especially at this time. As it is, business is slow. People are not coming to the theatres in big numbers and the situation is not all that profitable. At this point of time, we cannot afford clashes," says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
He adds that if producers only keep eyeing festive or strategic dates for release, such clashes are bound to happen and, what's more, their films might not end up doing as well as...

Mumbai, Nov 28 (Ians) Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor had famously played an alcoholic on self-destructive mode in the 2019 blockbuster, Kabir Singh, and his performance has now inspired actor Akshay Mhatre for his role in a TV show.
Akshay's character Rohan goes through a downfall phase in the show "Indiawaali Maa", and to play that part convincingly he took cues from Shahid's role in the Bollywood film.
"I have personally been a fan of Shahid and I believe his portrayal of Kabir in 'Kabir Singh' has been one of his finest performances. The way he showcased in the song 'Bekhayali', how Kabir loses everything after losing his love, is commendable. There are many people who take the support of alcohol to forget the pain of losing their loved ones which is very wrong," said Akshay.
"Rohan's phase of losing everything took me back to Kabir's phase where he loses Preeti in the movie.
