Dave Matthies

Dave Matthies is the owner and lead designer at Cowboy Mustache, a
motion graphics/special effects company located in Southern California.
In 2013 he was awarded a Prime Time Emmy Certificate for his work on CBS' hit show "Undercover Boss". He also was responsible for graphics and special effects on Destination America's hit TV show "Mountain Monsters".
Matthies has worked for networks like Discovery Channel, Destination America, TLC, Animal Planet, Spike, CBS, Tru TV, and production companies like American Chainsaws, All3Media, Think Factory Media, and Transglobal Group.
After studying physics, chemistry, calculus, and audio electronics at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, Matthies helped run the indie rock label KNW-YR-OWN from 1998-2006 and also co-founder the Pacific NW music festival "What the Heck Fest".
Matthies is also a musician/producer and has worked with musical acts such as Little Wings, Laura Veirs, Karl Blau, the Microphones/Mount Eerie and many others.
