Billy the Kid Season 1’s ending set the stage for the Lincoln County Wars. Billy had changed allegiances and chosen to fight for John Tunstall. This was a move that shocked Jesse, but he respected his friend’s decision. Jesse was glad that Billy told him about his decision before leaving the gang. Billy had taken a stand that would change the dynamics of the war. Lawrence Murphy was willing to take up the fight without Billy on their side. Billy can't catch a break, can he?
Throughout Billy the Kid Season 2 Episode 1, the hoping-to-be former outlaw told anyone who would listen that he was attempting to reform.
Billy has never been comfortable as an outlaw.
His sainted mother, Kathleen, raised Henry McCarty as a good Catholic boy.
But his quick temper and elevated sense of right and wrong soon landed him in infamy. It's hard to make a fresh start anywhere when your face is on a wanted poster.
That was why Billy was so grateful to John Tunstall for accepting him when he switched over to his side against his former employer, Major Murphy, to help the farmers and ranchers being victimized by The House, the local branch of the corrupt Santa Fe Ring.
Billy wisely turned down Tunstall's offer of becoming his second in command, deferring to a resident whom the others were more likely to follow.

Like many 19-year-old men, Billy McCarty Antrim is still learning the hard way.
Unfortunately, Billy continued to be haunted by his recent criminal mistakes on Billy the Kid Season 1 Episode 5.
Billy believes he's basically good but just misunderstood. Thanks to the wanted posters for Kid Antrim, the general population feels otherwise.
While recuperating after almost dying in the desert on Billy the Kid Season 1 Episode 4, Billy had the opportunity to reflect upon his short life.
Instead, he fell hard for his nurse, Barbara, who just happened to be the woman of Jesse Evans, Billy's former partner in crime.
Maybe Barbara should have mentioned that along the way. Then again, Barbara was a liberated woman long before her time who had broken away from the strict dogma of the Calvinists.
Barbara didn't feel compelled to bind herself to one man, and she told both Jesse and Billy that, to their chagrin.

The history books talk about how people couldn’t help but like him, even when he was doing bad things,” Blyth says. In May 8’s third installment, the teen Billy McCarty takes his first step down an outlaw path. The son of Irish immigrants has faced destitution and death in the family’s move west. Now a new loss brings devastating grief, and a violent showdown with his abusive stepfather (Jamie Beamish), a fraudster and philanderer, leaves Billy the “man of the house.” When his attempt to earn an honest living is thwarted by frontier society corruption, broke Billy lets his poker buddy, older criminal firecracker Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber...
